Vogue Mexico September 2021 : Melissa Barrera by Emma Summerton

That angle probably sounded better in theory, you can't even see her. BUT, I am sooo excited about Benjamin Millepied's directorial debut and Melissa and Paul Mescal..

I thought the same. This is probably (next to Alessandra’s last month) one of their top covers of the year considering the not so good covers they produced the first half of the year.

The casting director is the entertainment director of American Vogue and the stylist is the Style Director of British Vogue. This magazine is under Anna or Edward?

This angle and image choice is quite questionable for a cover, it's very unconventional. But I must admit that there is also something rather appealing here, the soft colors combined with the gold and the shining sun create such a magical effect.

This just looks like a bad fake sunset added to the photo. Expected more from Emma Summerton.

^^^ Absolutely. Looks like it was digitally added from another frame: The lighting of the background and lighting of her does not match at all. …There’s something really over-processed to that sky…. And it’s such a bad crop LOL

Emma is usually solid with her compositions and framing, but she doesn’t have enough pull to demand her frames not be messed with in such an inexperienced effort, unfortunately.

The occasional dodgy covershot and casting aside, Mexico is always reliable for a consistent, simple elegance that never looses focus on its people and culture. More than ever, their features on local artisans outshine and put the bigger Vogues to shame. Their fashion stories are best when its an effortless showcase of Mexican heritage and easygoing prettiness and sunkissed locales rather than desperately seeking to appeal to SM trends and attention whores.

You have a relatively new actress and chose to show her not looking at the camera. Choices...
fake background like 90's videos when they juxtaposed people and landscapes....and they need to step it up on the art direction, cause it's stuck a couple years ago.

I used to like VM with Karla but 2020 and 2021 for me are disappointing years, with some notable exceptions...a shame specially when all the things that are happening in the publishing world, each month you have the opportunity to make your stand (before Anna thinks you are not necessary).

I'm wondering what cover is going for Latam....

It actually looks stunning if you remove the letter E on the logo/masthead. Nice to see an unconventional pose on a Vogue September cover since Germany, China, and España are very much alike with each other in terms of image + interpretation of their worldwide theme this month.

The alternate cover is also beautiful.

What a terrible cover. The angle is unflattering, the lighting is amateur, there is zero redeeming qualities to it, it looks like she is halfway sneezing. The styling doesn’t fit much too, too heavy on jewelry, it lacks simple elegance, this is too on the nose.

At this moment there's no even an August issue for Latin America. Same for GQ, which it last issue was for June. I was looking on Instagram if their June issue was printed. Only for Colombia, nothing for the rest of Latin America, only digital on Magzter. I don't know if the magazine closed for the rest of the countries, or it will run again by September. Their May issue still on newsstands in Buenos Aires.

Maybe they're having a distribution problem. Even at CNWWN the latest issue available is the june one. The problem is in Mexico too, the magazine isn't available in every stand as it used to be, only in selected stores and supermarkets.

mmmm maybe they are folding Latam without telling us?....and they fwill make Mexico/Latam combined? just a thought...Let's find more information...

These two covers are much better, these are very pretty, Ioves it. Cynthia could serve a bit more poshness in her face, but nonetheless these are good. Also, always a treat to see Kerolyn Soares.

Much Much better...point for Latam....

The global themes are so juvenile!
But these last covers are beautiful! I love the lighting and the silly global theme is an afterthought.
Finally someone is giving us FASHION!
