Vogue Paris February 2014 : Emily DiDonato by David Sims

Is Vogue Paris a racist nowadays?
A Top Model Issue without any Asian Models? Kidding?

So dark skinned models are not a factor in the diversity equation. Only Asian models matter? Somehow that's not racist? Or am I missing something.

^Ideally, a diverse cast of models should be all-encompassing; when it's 98% white, 2% black or Latina, and 0% Asian, the magazine isn't even pretending to appeal to a racially diverse audience. And given that this is an issue that features so many different models and they had ample opportunity to feature a least a few Asian models, yeah, I'd say that comes off as pretty racist.

Kemp Muhl has been around for over a decade. How in the heck is she a new face?

Other than that, I don't like Freja's ed, but I like Kati's and Emily's

Mert posted a preview in his IG! It looks like Anna Ewers is featured in the main ed! :woot:

My retro review (or wish) of this week goes to this issue. I would love to own this one, that cover with Emily is pretty clean compared to the rest of Alt issues. I miss her everywhere. That girl was THE face at the time . Love the cast from the rest with Saskia, Kati, Hana (and the guys, I know how much hate got Sgura back then, but I love his Bill King eds). Different from Carine's VP, but not the worst compared to what we seen this decade. Alt's Vogue has a bunch of good moments.

Even though I do like model Emily DiDonato and photographer David Sims, I was never in love with this cover. The dark colors and styling do not work for me. I do like the editorial much more.

Such a nostalgic issue and makes me miss seeing Malaika have her moment. Still wishing for a big comeback for her.

Think you're right 😅 taking another look to this cover isn't glorious. This issue bumped into my mind after seing Hana's ed on instagram, and I though "wow, I know which issue is", and I thought it was better looking as I remember. I went right to this thread and wrote this. I do miss a lot this girl though, that kind of beauty. Compared to what happened after Alt, this cover feels like an "okay" one. For 2014 standards wasn't that good.
