Vogue Paris May 2008 : Julianne Moore by Mario Testino

Terry ed is soo soft, im really surprised. im curious abour sims and mcdean`s stories they looks similar but really like stories from the movies esp sims one: looks like "Un homme et une femme" with Anouck Aimee. and sorrenti looks dull, almost same thing what in self service and really looks like david armstrong. and im tired of all these faces with open mouths and with hands between legs

the theme of this issue is Cinema... as every May issues....
Don't forget Cannes is very close.... one month, I think...

I couldn't even comment properly on the cover, it looks so wrong.. I don't care if they took someone completely out of her element.. like it hasn't been done before.. sometimes I just wish Carine would be more cynical or just honest enough to finally put herself on her own cover.. fans would be thrilled and hopefully she'd stop making such lame tributes of herself month after month..
Can you imagine Carine making Vogue Paris' cover???
That would be great.... and that would be something to f***ing dare
but i really doubt it would happen, especially in such a situation (ie panties and breast out....)
She is a "normal" worker before being an Image (as Models and Movies' Stars or any other celebrities) so I guess it's different for her to act / play a character on a cover ....

What I came to conclude is that since like more than one year she got too much much media covering and now her work is erasing itself behind the person / fashion celebrity....
Who really knew Carine Roitfeld in 2001 ???? A few people got excited when she was named E. in C. of VP....A few people has ever seen her face.... She was not that "famous"....

I'm not a Fan Fan but I respect her and her work (honestly putting Julianne Moore is something to dare for a Special Cinema issue in FRANCE! We're not on the American Continent)
but maybe Carine should hide herself (the media side) a little and just take care of the magazine and of course carry on the vogue.fr tv itw and get involved in something new, something fresh.... something different..... I still don't know what, but something new..... I don't know like taking her daughter and new talents to create an "underground" magazine.... She can do it.... Just Do it...

anyway too much blabla....
:lol::blush:

I don't know for Europe in general, but I can talk for France.... and I'm not sure about Julianne Moore is as famous as for instance Sharon Stone or Nicole Kidman (previously on a VP's cover)....

I definitely agree that the media exposure has possibly saturated us with her image but then I guess media exposure in some strange and peculiar cases where work is actually involved can be quite eye-opening to know who's actually holding real talent. I'm not saying Carine is completely devoided of it but when you're so involved in imagery and in an artistic world, I can't help but find suspicious these people who simply cannot leave their own personality behind and have to put themselves before their ideas so other people don't get past the fact that they did it, makes me wonder if they actually have something under the sleeve.. other than their arm :P. I know it is hard to see the line between being personal and impersonal but at this point, she's coming off as the tom ford of the magazines world.. completely advertising herself, and openly calling for that media attention.. not even Anna Wintour makes such a graphic use of her own image, personality, desires and everything involved.

.. on the point you make about her being a normal worker and having to see her transform herself into playing a character.. the thing is, her cover choices and editorial models transform themselves into playing HER.. there wouldn't be much performance involved for her in front of the camera..

I think you're right Mullet with this :

then I wanted to say stuff.... but this morning my english doesn't want to work.....

:P it's okay.. I'm basically just going around in circles and should certainly go to bed by now if I want to wake up in time tomorrow morning for a change. :argg:

Thanks Berlin for all the scans!:flower: Lara by Sorrenti is good.
Can't wait to see Julianne's pics. I think it's a very daring choice for Carine to put her on the cover. And it turns out to be nice.

please berlin, scan Sims ed, im so curious

ASF, please give Berlin some adequate time :flower: There is no need to rush him if you already know that he's going to scan the editorial without doubt.

And please also note the forum guidelines:

Please refrain from making unsolicited, blatant scan requests to scanners who are generously sharing.
Thank you! ^_^

Berlin - karma for all the wonderful work!
