does anyone know what happened to french vogue during the 40's?
i found it a bit odd they didn't make a section to that decade on the website...
was the magazine not published during that time because of the ww2 restrictions?
still, i'm confused because i've seen a lot of us vogue covers from the 40's!

I think it was the invasion....A good part of the 40s were lost due to war and German occupation. It seems a likely explanation.

during the fourties, Vogue Paris did not exist, actually during the WW2. so nothing was lost, as nothing did exist.

A bit of Vogue Paris History :
Vogue Paris was created in 1920. It was first a bi-monthly and then a monthly magazine in 1923. From 1940 to 1945 Vogue Paris no longer existed.
Edna Woolman Chase was the first editor in chief of Vogue Paris (she actually was the editor in chief of Vogue US, Vogue Uk and Vogue Paris at the same time.)
