W October 2012 : Jennifer Lawrence by Tim Walker

WHAT. IS. THIS!!??
horrible and laughable. so lame.
and she doesn't really have a body to serve high fashion properly.
I like Jennifer, but this is just wrong.

Are they serious? Literally my first reaction was laughter. This looks like an SNL spoof of Black Swan!!

She rarely photographs well...she's a great actress, bad model.

Jennifer is a beautiful girl but this cover is terrible. The styling couldn't be any worse.

She might be talented but she has no presence and the blandest face out there. Hopefully the content is good.

This could have been amazing but instead it turned out into a mess... She does not have the presence to make it work, and the styling does not do her justice either. Very Tim Walker-ish I agree, very disappointed if he is indeed the responsible for this mess.
BTW W is publishing their 40th anniversary issue on November, right?

There's a resemblance between this cover outfit, and Jennifer's 'Girl on fire' costume from The Hunger Games movie. And for that, I kinda have admiration for a Tim Walker shoot - and I don't often. Nonetheless, W has become forgettable. Most of mine were sold and I was glad to see them boxed and gone.

What a ridiculous thing to say. She has a fantastic body and shape and it serves garments perfectly, high fashion or otherwise.

She doesn't look anything of the sort.

Anyway, back to the point, the image itself reminds me of the girl from The Never Ending Story personally.

I strangely like this the more i look at it. I like the complete black outfit and the risk they have took with jennifer. Though it is not the best W cover for sure

My only complaint about this is how they styled her eyebrows...ugh. I actually really like this, Jennifer's body is amazing and I'd absolutely rather see more women with her body type modeling high fashion garments *

she seems so awkward, you barely see the logo, the styling doesn't work and her face is like "what?" NO.

I did not like the how Jennifer looked at first, but I appreciate her versatility now that I think about it. I appreciate an actress who is able, and willing, to change her appearance.

This is Rooney Mara styling; doesn't quite work with Jennifer, who is perfect for any "Americana" type styling and photography. But this could just be a misguiding cover. The gorilla gloves could be throwing me off.

the styling is really bad. jennifer is a gorgeous girl so i would have loved to see her in something else.
