W September 2012 : Penélope Cruz by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott

^My thoughts eaxctly. The only other issue I anticipate and know will deliver is Interview's.

I just still couldn't believe that Spellbound was shot by Meisel. It's just really different from what he usually does.

I agree. Looks more something M&M or Tim Walker would do for LOVE Magazine. It looks stunning nevertheless.

Can someone tell me what's the W trends supplement about? is it a runway edition or the editor's picks for this season?

This is such a departure for SM and I love it! Great cast & Edward's styling is amazing. Another excellent story from this incredible issue. Thanks for sharing, Marc10!! :flower:

Spellbound is great! A better cast though could have pushed it into absolutely iconic status imo...however it's still the best thing I've seen from W in months.

I 've fixed the link so I decide to reply this post again:lol:

Actually I believe this shot is imspired by that game " the path"

Quite similar, isn't it?

There's no limit to things from which Meisel gets the inspiration  Actually I'm not a huge fan of the ed but it's still quite interesting.

^Good catch! Those are definitely extremely similar. Now I want to know what the other shots were inspired by, they really do all look like video game or fantasy movie settings.

Well if you guys don't like this issue you will not find anything better. Vogue Paris will probably bomb as usual, Vogue Italia's only redeeming feature will be the main ed (if it's shot outside of the stuido) and all the other September issues will be simply too ordinary to bother. That's just my opinion. :innocent:

I don't really get this logic. Because the other September issues might be less good than this one I have to love this? Or if I don't like this there's no way I will like any other September issues? I personally liked the Vogue UK September issue a lot and found it to be more thought-out and varied than this issue.

Wow now this is a stellar sept issue, Walker and Meisel brought their A-game, definitely a must-have:D

i got this in the mail(it was free so please don't hold it against me ) and the one silver lining about this absurd issue is the little article they did on miguel adrover's return. i'll try and scan it and post in his thread.
