What Brands Are Trend At Your School?

i love when i see the really really really bad knockoffs, the ones that dont look real at all. they make me laugh. esp the ones that could be real, except that the print is inverted or the wrong color entirely... great stuff. :D

Wow- that's nice. Where do you work anyway?
[/b][/quote]
I wonder what goes through their heads when they make fun of others. Some of these women are in their 30s and 40's NOT in Highschool!!! They may think they look cool when they do it but they' just look like snobs, and have no reason to act that way, Trust me!!!

I work for Elle Quebec but also do work to Elle Canada. A lot of the time many things are written for both magazines except one is in English and the other is in French.

DIOR DIOR DIOR AND SOME LOUIS VUITTON AND H&M n TOPSHOP.... strange mix i know but its only here in royal holloway... "englands poshest uni" where this can happen

There are no major trends or brands at my office.

The youngest file clerk wears a lot of things from shops like Delia's, the other receptionist my age wears a lot of Old Navy, I wear mostly my own home-made stuff or Vintage. The boss and one of the other receptionists wear a lot of things from Fashion Bug, two of the other receptionists are all about Wal-Mart, one of the others, I don't know where she gets her clothes, but she always looks REALLY cute. She regularly has Spiegel catalogues on her desk, so I am guessing quite a bit of it comes from there. The last receptionist is a Muslim lady, and gets a lot of her tunic tops and skirts and scarves from various local shops. She frequently just wears very conservative mainstream clothes, too--like a school-teacher.

The inspectors mostly wear blue-jeans and tee-shirts or khakis and some other type of shirt. Many of the younger inspectors wear baseball hats a lot.

The plan reviewers dress a little nicer, but mostly still khakis and something else. One of the female plan reviewers always looks really sharp, and I think a lot of her stuff comes from J. Crew, Banana Republic, and probably the Jones store or some other larger department store.

My uni is the most unfashionable place in the whole world, filled with ugly and tastless people, and I'm not exaggerating! It should be one of the sight-seeing places for tourists.
Sometimes we (me and my best friend) go around and try to spot some good-looking people - some look ok, there are even some good-looking, but the majority is just . The only brand names most of them know are Nike,Adidas and may-be Versace also rings a bell.
You probably think I consider myself perfect... not even close, but I wash myself, comb my hair and don't dress in the dark.
You have to see it to belive.

Liszs, TPÜ perhaps?
If yes, then I agree. Nobody even makes an effort

OK, down here, we are all starving artists, so, most of my friends and I, we buy from vintage stores, where you can actually find designer stuff from maybe three seasons ago and things like that... we love going thrift shopping also, looking for original things,.. I personally, own some designer stuff, even though I work really hard for it, but I don't try to be one of those label whores, who are wearing designer all over...about the other part, I don't really care what they wear, they spend one hour standing in front of the closet wondering what are they going to wear to school... Puh leeze!, I wake up sometimes and grab a jacket and go straight to school on my pajamas and a trench

Iowa State is in the Midwest...so not many designer-educated students here, also no designer boutiques and a little mall that boasts an Express and Gap...but...

Clothing:

Abercrombie
Von Dutch
Puma

Handbags/Purses:

Coach
Dooney & Bourke

wow haha..people in my school don't care about brands! i must be lucky. of course i can count about 5-8 girls who are brand crazi..but that's out of 150 students so it's fine :P even though my school is not public..the kids dont really care so much about such things and most arent spoiled/filthy rich..

but me and my friends love
killah babe
miss sixty
zara
H&M
mango
replay & sons
diesel

:flower:

Elegance is not only a matter of clothes.
Making fun of people with less money is :yuk:
A heart will always be the best accessory.

Very well said.

But in her defence she's not lacking funds in the bank. I believe her husband is a doctor and she drives quite a nice car and lives in a nice part of town.

They're not making fun of her because she has no money I think they're just making fun of her sense of style. Which isn't much better in my opinion. :(

I was gonna wonder how a receptionist afforded Louis Vuitton unless she had saved for a VERY long time for it. And if she did, it would be even meaner of those women to mock her for carrying it.

The cost of a LV bag is around $2,000 correct? I know that is a couple hunderd dollars over my monthly take-home pay, and I am a receptionist. If I felt the need to carry a $2k bagf (which I don't) I would have to save up for it forever. I put $100-$150 away in savings every month, so it would take me the better part of a year and a half to get one, and then it would wipe out my savings entirely.

So it is just as well that I don't lust after obscenely expensive bags!

My school (Wesleyan) was rated the 5th most fashionable US college by WWD! ooh yeah B)

Everyones either a hippie or a hipster and it is basically socially unacceptable to wear anything with logos (Ive only seen 2 LV bags my enitire time here, and 1 von dutch hat -- amazing huh?). The look is, I just threw together this amazing eclectic outfit that I got for $7 at a thrift store.

But that look can be very expensive and there is nothing that annoys me more than over hearing this conversation

Girl 1 I love your dress, were did you get it?

Girl 2 ohh...i found for $7 at this random trasy 2nd hand store.

Girl 3 Wow! Thats Incredible

Yeah thats Marc Jacobs, It cost $300, not 7...please dont even try to fool anyone

But most people I know do have a great and unusual style

I know NYU was no 1 ... the rest I cant remember right now, ill try to figure it out though

Abercrombie! Abercrombie is the only brand people wear at my school.

abercrombie, AE, hollister, juicy, urban outfitters, polo, lacoste, gola, adidas, converse, LV (all fakes, i've yet to see a real one), jon hart totes and backpacks, puma, von dutch (yes, i laugh at everysingle person who still where's that sh*t, it went out like a year and a half ago IMHO, we just get stuff really late down here), seven jeans, citizens of humanity, rainbow sandals (the brand), chaco sandals  , the north face, fox racing, reef, jordans. diesel, dooney and bourke  , personalized LL Bean canvas tote bags -- basically whatever these suburbanite kids can get ahold of.

one trend ive seen at school that i hate -- girls wearing boys shorts, so wrong! plus, all the girls i see doing it have chunky legs and it looks so  is that only here that girls are doing that, because it needs to stop!

Top 10 from my school newspaper
Hollister
Volcom
Active
Roxy
Quiksilver
Levi's
Ecko
Roca Wear
Von Dutch
Abercrombie

Acessories/Shoes
Vans
Converse
Timbs
D&B It bag
Nike(air Force one higtops)
All Fake LV bags(It's official, they did a poll..me and 2 other girls have real and thats it)

The sad thing is the way they pair things are very boring, predictable..and the Hollister girls are usually just :yuk: way too much out...and the problem is everyone here thinks they are the sh*t. I wear some Hollister and Abercrombie but I add character by pairing it with vintage, cutting the shirts up, layering in interesting ways and having kool acessories...I'm the only one here who is really into fashion...and since I've gone here...I have honestly been dying to spot a Miss Sixty or even a Juicy couture piece to break the pattern. Still none..I'm the only one.

I want to move back to the greater Los Angeles area..Rancho no where is not working for me...
