What Brands Are Trend At Your School?

I was gonna wonder how a receptionist afforded Louis Vuitton unless she had saved for a VERY long time for it.  And if she did, it would be even meaner of those women to mock her for carrying it.
I basically think that it depends on the area. For example, I actually noticed some of the nannies carrying Louis Vuitton at the park I where I was working last summer. Mind you, the very fact that the children had nannies at all is saying something.

Nannies are sometimes given hand-me-downs from the children's mothers, too. One of my friends from college had taken a few gap-years after highschool and worked as an au pair in NYC, and the mom of the children gave her the most amazing pair of beaded Choo evening shoes, a cute Marc Jacobs sundress that had a kind of 1950s vibe going, and countless cardigans and shrugs and shell-tops, once they went out of fashion. A lot of S's sartorial perquisites from Mrs. D. had probably only been worn three or four times, and it was all excellent quality. A lot of Donna Karen and Anne Klein.

Making a post about fake bags was enough. Making sure that you mention the fact that you hate fake designer bags in each post you make is just ********.

Get over it! There have been knock offs forever. Are you girls afraid that people who pay 20$ for their bags might get more attention than you who paid 800$??

Who cares if some people aren't willing to pay that much for a bag that will inevitably go out of style?

I didn't think of that, but you're probably right. And here I was thinking that even the nannies were ubsurdly wealthy... :innocent:

OOOH I see we have no opinion from the unfashionable midwest parts in here (and to clarify not all midwest... just my town and some surrounding areas)

the most popular brands at my school are...
abercrombie
american eagle

and people think they're hot stuff when they order online at
hollister
and urban outfitters but only the graphic tees

oh and fake lvs are the thing... there is 1 real lv and it's the accesories pouch

here's a direct quote from one of the girls condsidered in fashion :yuk:
"We had an awesome time in China town.....dealing with all the chinese people.....but it was great because we got some really cool *** cheap stuff!! hah lots of louis vuittons....lots of it....."

one of these being a fake lv plastic watch

i love my school for the most part... just not the fashion

everyone at my school is so individual that really there arent any trends at all

at my uni:

generic louis vuitton, gucci, and prada bags of all types
the north face
crew (for more than just the polo team)
topshop and monsoon
levi's jeans
miss sixty
l.l. bean and j. crew (for the american jya's)
thomas pink (for the boys)

Hmmm... the girls at my school are going nuts for p*rn, they carry around play boy bags with the huge bunny logo, they have the play boy neclase, really low rise jeens who are two to three numbers too small (even the skinny girls have "fat" exploiding from the tight trousers), they all carry on them some sort of p*rno logo like (p*rn star - p*ssy - boy toy etc), they are really exited about showing a lot of breast clevage, they are orange from creams that make them "brown" (don't remember what they are called), too much make up and they have black chuncks on their eyelashes. Sure I'm not talking about the whole school, but this is the fashion that is going on with at least 70% of the girls at my school, me NOT included

The boys... really plastic looking, too much hair gel, too much showing off with their muscles and too much ego ;) the rest are a mixture of grunge and hip hop. Not much to say about the guys really

My school's a crazy mix. It's a private school, but it gives out a huge amount of financial aid. The economic system of the students ranges from people whose families can't afford a car, to people who got BMWs for their 16th birthday. Therefore the brands people wear range from Old Navy to Marc Jacobs...

My school is like uber diverse. When I went to private school most of the people were classic prep, Lacoste polos, Tod's loafers, etc. Plus there was a dress code, so know one was ever really dressed down (except me who was constantly getting in trouble for wearing jeans). Now that I am at public school there are so many different ranges. I'd say 99% of the guys wear like generic mall brands, and the same can be said about like 80% of the girls. Then there are a few girls who are "into fashion" but really they are just into logos. A lot of J'adore Dior tee shirts, Juicy stuff, some LVs (real and fake--mostly fake). The girls are also all strangely intoxicated by those Coach logo bags. Almost every girl in the school has one. Then there are the few who wear Manolos and Marc Jacobs bags. Then there is me, truthfully the only guy in the entire school that cares about clothing.

Well, at my school it all about flashing some logos if you want to be somebody. My school is seen as the most snobbish private school in Copenhagen and a lot of rich kids are here (even Prince Joachim and Crown Prince Frederik who got married to Mary Donaldson last Friday went to my school).

A big trend is Von Dutch caps, fake Ugg's (don't think you can buy authentic in Denmark though), Diesel jeans, everything with Gucci monogram (they'd buy the eraser talked about in the accesories debate!), Kawasaki shoes and fake Murakami bags. Guess I'm the only at the intire school who owes an authentic though I wouldn't know 'cause I don't take it to school. But people generally don't know much about fashion or style but like to show off their money.

I go to an all girl's prep, so it's all preppy- lacoste, khakis, sperry topsiders, clarks, north face, patagonia, LV (mostly real- my mom, who teaches at the middle school part of the school carries her speedy 30 to school and another teacher only likes Prada), and some other stuff that's uniqe to the coast.... A&F and AE are sort of big- like, just the skirts and maybe the occasional polo, but not full on LOGO~

Gap
Guess
Puma ( I am so fed up with those huge bowling bags with the brand written on )
Diesel - The shoes are EVERYWHERE
Zara

Where about in Montreal do you live?

I think you were the person who posted the Montreal pictures, no? :flower:

 JUICY ...almost everywhere i LOOK! :o This year at prom, it felt like 2/3 of the girls at my school had the same dresses from BCBG ...

Coach is dying down, but Louis Vuitton (both fake and real) is definitely on the rise

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it yet but... LACOSTE! :innocent:

Not much Louis Vuitton because we all know it is very last year. THe poor receptionist who still carries around a Louis Vuitton purse gets made fun of

How horrible! It sounds like a very difficult work environment...
I just give them weird looks or make them feel bad for being really shallow.

They probably make fun of me behind my back

I dont make fun for two main reasons. 1. is that you should never pass judgement especially when you're not perfect yourself. 2. plus I wouldn't want anyone to be sad because of something that came out of my mouth.

But LV is still very last year. Atleast in Montreal and Toronto  [/b][/quote]
I don't see LV as very last year. Not the clothing line or the bags. I think a well worn Louis Vuitton bag is classic, if used to tote stuff around and not as a status symbol. I think Louis Vuitton as a status symbol is unstylish.

Its not that people get fake I know people get em and I dont care about that....

...what I said I dont like is people who buy fakes then they pass it off as real to people who dont know any better. I can't help but feel bad for the people who keep trying to pass it for real around my school...Its like please stop being trying to be some show off, and even more if youre gonna be a b*tch and brag it should be at least freaking real. Have SOME credibility if youre gonna be a braggart.

people at our school don't parade brands...it's jus a bit not perth...hehe, even though i'm at one of 'em private schools... btu yeh...lv's are still all the go for those who can afford them and fake of course...

but huge things people wear that piss me off...retro...fringes (esp. the blunt ones) and stuff like that...

my school has uniforms for there aren't as many trends that are obviously current but u jus see people and tween in public and know what they would be wearing at school.

I'm in a school in Aussie and some of the more popular ones are...

- any surf brand (roxy, billabong, one teaspoon etc)
- levis, riders...
- anything supre
- bardot, sportsgirl, gap, jeans west, just jeans etc
- kookai!!
- FCUK (french connection united kingdom)

the list goes on...

Most of the popular brands for girls my age are not too too pricey (no more than $150 a piece), and fairly casual.
