Your Magazine Cover Predictions & Speculations

Kamala Harris on the latest cover of Marie Claire Spain. So far that's US and French Elle, and this one. I really didn't know she was such a big deal!
And in a way, it puts more pressure on Vogue. Would they only do a feature or a cover as well seeing as she's already tested on newsstands?
But I'm still convinced Dr. Jill Biden will get a cover sooner than her.

Can someone translate the main coverline? Surely it doesn't mean 'The female leader of the EU???' LOL. What about Merkel? :innocent:

It says “Kamala Harris could be... the president of the United States”

Indeed she's a big deal in many countries: people look up to her because of her background, her career, now this job position and the fact that still in 2020 we have yet to see a woman president in the US, France, Spain, Italy etc etc.

People are always whining about Americans thinking we're the center of the world, then
magazines like Marie Claire Spain, put Kamaa Harris on the cover of their magazine.
These local titles need to focus on local celebrities. Kamala is making history in the United States, and not Spain.
Cute cover tho.

They hate us cuz they ain’t us

Surely, however it doesn't mean she isn't relevant in Spain or that her aura and decisions or repercussions or career path can affect the minds or actions of people in Spain. That's one of the beautiful aspect of globalization to me though. I'm a french man living in Spain but I can still be interested or affected or moved by what a politician or a celebrity in Thailand or Iceland might say or do, so I do love when magazine pick people who aren't from their country and still celebrate them.

I agree, and that's exactly why I have an opinion on everyone!
Not that I'd want to see her on UK covers, but what you're saying does make sense. And yet, you have to ask why Marie Claire would go for Kamala when they could easily feature, say Queen Letizia who all of them have shunned ever since that scandal? Could be the self-made, independent woman values that Kamala represents, regardless of whether you like her or not. On the shadier side, are these magazines saying 'yeah, you won Biden. But we don't want you, we want her'?

There are - and have been - plenty of women politicians throughout Europe in top jobs, but it's like female tennis players - the media only makes a big deal out of some of them (usually the photogenic ones) and the rest might as well not exist. But exist they do, and they go about their jobs regardless of whether they're on the cover of fashion magazines.

Anyhow, with Charlotte Casiraghi being announced as a new official representative/spokesperson for Chanel, will there be more covers in the offing in 2021?

Any guesses as to who we'll see on the February issue of British Vogue? I have zero clue, and Kate Moss came out of left field last month. Now the Christmas and New Year period is over, I'm read for a batch of fresh covers.

I think Ariana will get a British Vogue cover soon.

I think we’ll see some Black models soon, too. Precious and Adesuwa could be contenders.

I think it’s going to be Angelina Jolie, sounds random but I remember a post (sorry I can’t remember who posted it) in “the cover rumour thread” that mentioned a Vogue Survey with Angelina Jolie at home along with a Kim Jones Fendi feature too. It would make sense that since it also mentioned Kate Moss who was January that the other star name in it (Angelina) would be February. Could be a stretch though.

Crossing fingers for some more Steven Meisel extravaganza this year! Felt very deprived of his beautiful work in 2020...

Either Gainsbourg or her mother will surely get a cover..

I believe the past two February issues for British Vogue have been centered around film or the Oscars. Maybe we'll finally get Viola on the cover of Vogue or maybe Carey. I would say Vanessa Kirby, but she just covered American Harpers, so I ruled her out.

Eta: But with the date changes not sure if there will be change to the theme or cover subjects.

Multiple GaGa fan sources have mentioned it's her on the cover. There were already rumours last year, so I could see it happen, but it could also just be wisful thinking on their part.

 No thanks to Germanotta! Why would they even give her a cover? Yes, that album got a bit of hype when it was released but it died soon afterwards. She's only present in the lives of the Little Monsters, nobody is talking about her. I do think she'll get a lot of press for that Gucci film though.

Precious would be great in British Vogue, by Meisel. But since Meisel only shoots in studio I'm not sure how much more exciting that would be next to her edit in the current issue of US Vogue, which is really quite stunning?

What? Rain On Me was one of the biggest hits of the year (easily her biggest hit since Born This Way, if we don't count Shallow as that was more of a movie soundtrack), Chromatica got 1 all over the world and got rave reviews and generally speaking it seems there is a lot of goodwill towards her at the moment. I'd say she definitely made a good comeback last year and Haus of Labs is also doing very well. So all in all speaking, it would make a lot of sense to let her cover British Vogue.
