Your Must-Watch Fashion Show Recommendations...

Men and Women working it. I can't believe how gorgeous the male models used to be. It was insane.
Also Sharon Stone in the audience. lol

And this one. Just pure masculine glamour.

I cannot not Include Karl of course. Fabulous clothes, energetic show! Still super modern…

Azzedine, always…
His big return (the 2001 show doesn’t count), with the support of his designers’s friends.

I would have included the FW1987 but they removed it.

This Gucci show…Maybe because it was his most controversial and influential.

Ultimate bourgeoise 40’s inspired satin duchess fest by Prada!

While it’s not necessarily my all time favorite collection from Nicolas at Balenciaga, I have always loved this collection and this show because it really felt like an achieved vision. It all works, the set, the references, the dramatic music and maybe that element of grandeur and showmanship that is more present here than before.

The only footage available. It had an impact on me back in the days when Paris Premiere used to broadcast full shows on TV. Super dramatic, fun and fierce. Back when models used to feel themselves walking a Galliano show ( and not doing ridiculous poses).

I always go back to this show after all…

Just because it was a fun show!
Not necessarily a spectacle but the clothes were the show!

Actually this may be a huge, huge long shot (and probably not the right forum for it) but does anyone know the track list for this show? Particularly the first one, I can’t get it out of my head and it’s been over three weeks :ninjas:

I know the Farben track, and "Lux Aeterna" from 2001: A Space Odyssey is in there but that's as far as I get.

His soundtracks were awesome

Full FULL show and soundtrack included. So wild and energetic with fabulous clothes. If only Viktor and Rolf would return to this as opposed to their current couture forays that are so saccharine and a bit self-serving:

Christian Dior Haute Couture Spring 2012 by Bill Gaytten

The redemption collection for Bill Gaytten, the much under appreciated creative director who carried the brand when it’s embroiled in the Galliano scandal (yes I know he screwed the previous HC up). I think this is a superb example of how “clean” and fresh a haute couture collection can be, like a good consommé. Not everything needs to be so rich all the time, but yet the magic is in the details. And the Lana soundtrack is :redheart::redheart::redheart:

Yves Saint Laurent Fall 2010 by Stefano Pilati

It may not be widely recognized as Stefano Pilati’s best collection for YSL, but it’s the one that got me hooked onto the brand. How something could be so sexy without revealing anything. The religiosity. The strict lines. And that long necklace with the silhouette pendant dangling from left to right when the models walk is such a tease.

Lanvin Spring 2013 by Alber Elbaz

A rare exercise in monochromatism by Alber Elbaz, who is known for his excellent skills for playing with colours.

Alexander McQueen Fall 2010 by Lee Alexander McQueen

The last Lee McQueen collection in his entire life. It’s a f*cking poetry.

I would have posted a video of the Valentino Haute Couture Fall 2010 (The “Lolita” collection) but I can’t find any video with the original soundtrack. That’s one milestone collection that indicates a shift of entire HC culture towards catering for (really) young clients.

mcqueens the girl who lived under the tree and horn of plenty. i get chills everytime i watch those.

Prada Spring 2007 I can't
Olivier Rizzo put the shorter 5'8- 5'9 girls Sasha and Marina Perez in flats and put the 6 foot Tanya D and the rest in heels
The final they all had different heights
Also few dressing mistakes with the belts left/right direction

(btw my account was hacked this year - my old posts are still up but under someone else’s name. It’s all so bizarre… I’ve had to re-register again)
