Your Period / Monthly Cycle

What did you search for then?....

I know if you search Kate Moss on google her TFS thread shows up so makes sense others would.

(Do I dare bump up this older thread...here goes!)

I'm wondering if this has happened to any of you. Well, not the boys, but then why would they read this thread?!

I generally have pretty uninteresting periods. Then last month I had a weird phantom one - not much of anything. I thought it odd, but I figure that these things happen. I was sort of stressed about school exams, after all.

Then this month - OMG, the worst period I can remember. It was like having three periods at once to make up for last month! I mean, what's up with that?

So, does this sound familiar to anyone?

Sort of like your body playing catch-up? I can imagine. ;) But no, I've never had that. I talk about periods with my friends, and I have heard of that happening to them. I think that isn't anything new at all, cygnenoir.

I'm on mine now. Mine are all phantom periods. :ninja: Sort of like the ninja smiley there. "Now you see me, now you don't!" It's a light spotting, so light that I don't bother to put a light-day pad on. Just a little soap and water washing by hand at the end of the day and that's that. That's how light my periods are. THANKFULLY.

^I take the pill and because I get oestrogen withdrawal migraines I skip periods and generally have one every three or so months on medical advice. I've been doing this for about three years and I have noticed that my periods are slightly heavier/longer than they used to be when I was having them every month, plus I now get cramps and I never used to. But I can hack that so long as I only get migraines for one week out of every 12 rather than one week out of every four...

I got my period yesterday and it felt like I reached the 5th level of hell. My cramps were so bad that all I could do was lie on the bed and cry my eyes out. I took medication for the cramps afterwards... My tummy got better but my lungs and throat started to hurt real bad and I felt as if I had trouble breathing.

**** menstruation.

My boyfriend, of course, does not understand. He just sat there and stared at me as if I was being overly dramatic or something.

This does sound familiar to me but my cycle has always been a little wacky. But I specifically remember being really sick for one period and having missed it and then being on the floor in pain, nauseated, and nearly fainting for the next one. :innocent:

I've never had a cramp in my life. I read in 17 magazine that 2 out of 3 girls get cramps. :lucky: Lucky me! But, my friend says that menopause is bound to be a b*tch since I missed out on the cramping part.

Ah, michyed, you poor thing. :flower:

When I was a teen I thought that PMS might be psychological. I know, that sounds horrible, but I would hear about people going to PMS clinics and think that they just enjoyed the drama. But now that I'm a bit older I do experience it and have met people who have PMS or periods that are completely debilitating.

Thanks everyone for your reassurances. I know periods are unpredictable but for a second I thought I was going to be one of those people who goes through menopause in their 20's! I know, I'm being silly.

Periods are one of the things i REALLY hate. My cycle is so stupid, sometimes it lasts like 25 days, sometimes more than 50 before I get cramps. Once I had it for 21 days! But then I got pills and everything was better ;D

My cycle tends to be fairly consistent. Generally around August/September it tends to change because that's when I move into school, so I'm around girls a lot more. During the summer, it changes as well cause then I'm not around other menstrating girls, just my parents (my mom has hit menopause) and my brother.

I usually have somewhat bad cramping the day before and the first day of, but it usually always goes away by the second or third day. My cycle usually lasts about 5-6 days. I've never had a period longer than that, but I have had a period that only lasted about 2-3 days once.

I suffer from PMDD so I'm always very moody, very emotional, and very stressed out during my period. I have trouble sleeping and i'm just very uncomfortable. I'm not a joy to be around at all and i'll cry over the silliest things. I haven't gone on medication for it, but my parents want me to.

I have suffered with my periods since I started them. I remember at school they were so painful my eyes would water, and so heavy that no pads or tampons could stem the flow for an entire school lesson, so my nan used to buy me cycling shorts so I could wear two pairs to try and stop me staining my school uniform. I hated it!

I have endometriosis, which is no big deal, but I did have to have a massive operation a few years ago because I had a cyst the size of a human head on my ovary which made me look like I was pregnant, but only on the right side. Horrible and weird! At the moment I'm getting my period every two weeks, and I feel sorry for my boyfriend because I am an utter lunatic before my period, despite being on antidepressants. It's not as bad as before the medication though, I used to want to burn the house down. Periods are rubbish!

I had a very regular one at the very beginning... then i didn't...got into a private clinic to get a proper treatment quite heavy at the beginning... but after beat that (Polycystic ovary syndrome) I became as regular as i was...I was lucky and ive got a really good doctor she simply loves her job and was a friend of my mother so she was so sweet with me.
The thing now is so average maybe... on my previous days im really sensitive 'bout lil' things, feeling sooo strangely moody, its kinda sooo hormone thing big time... its like i cannot wait my period comes so i stop feeling that waaaaaay haha...

my mother after having 3 kids started to have all the time her period which lead her to have anemia and feeling so downish... until she got some treatment cause it was too much blood too much often...
I hope u got the medical attention you deserver going through all that you have been. *hugs*

My period has gone wacko-through-the-roof in the past few months:wacko:... So i was on the birthcontrol pill (skipping the sugar pill's so I would not get my period as advised by a doctor because i had horrific period pain) and out of no where I get my period.. That period lasted for over a month. At that point the doctor put me on these other pills that made it stop. The doctor said my cycle would return back to normal except since then (and it has been 3 months) I still havnt got my period. Today the doctor made me get some blood tests to check my hormone levels.. This is crazy I'm freaking out:shock: WHAT IS WRONG WITH MEEEE

I'm always surprised when I get my perioid, I can't feel a thing. No water retention, breakouts, PMS or cravings. And I often forget tampons because I forget that I'm having my period in the first place  Thankfully I don't bleed for more than 2.5 days, and I don't bleed a lot :ninja:

Its weird with me. at first when i got my period i had pain in my stomach (for the first day), then for some time i didnt have any problems, no pain or anything when my period started. Now again past few times have been really awful, i had terrible pain, i pretty much couldnt even move myself, i was dizzy, i was shaking all over my body and i even vomited - i felt like i was going to die (i took in some painkillers before the pain started, they didnt work, as usual) . that feeling lasted about 2-3 hours and i was back normal then like nothing had happend, felt great.
for some time i had my period after every 2 weeks. i couldnt understand why :S (i havent been on birthcontrol pills or anything like that). at moment its not that regular either, but at least its once in month.
some friends of mine suggest me to see a doctor about it just in case.

My periods used to be short and just uncomfortable, but in the last yr, may cramps are terrible...
