Yves Saint Laurent S/S 10 Paris

Just saw the whole thing. I don't know if it's the styling or the presentation or what but the whole thing felt awkward, clumsy, and pointless.

There are very, VERY few pieces I liked in this collection. The rest is just awkward.

OMG, I used to wear those weird hairbands when I was a child! I can't wait to see the rest.

Cherries would be nice too, didn't see any yet, maybe because Tom Ford did the cherry heels already.

I was quite startled when I saw the strawberries, but when it was pointed out that it was from the archives and put into context, I appreciate it a lot more. And its not overwhelming in the collection (like hearts in the Ungaro show). So far I like it.

the strawberries kill it. & not in a good way.
- lets keep all the referrences from the past out of this & get back to the future.

I don't agree with that. I think you can only really look to the future by looking in the past a little... and that's just in general.

There is nothing awe-inspiring about repetition.-_-

well maybe they choosed the wrong designer...actually he's not good this year. llast FW we had good thing but that collection is a disaster. it's empty, there is nothing.

I am so dissapointed..... Yves Saint Laurent is always one of the main shows I look forward to every season. What happened it used to be really exciting now its all ugly sack shapes and big trousers every season...... I miss Tom Ford YSL so much!

^I think Stefano has proved himself much too often during his tenure for us to be able to say that. It seems he's just been experiencing a rough patch for a few seasons. However, his precollections are still pretty top-notch.

But there is a difference betwee repitition and inspired by the past. I really don't find his work repetitive. It's more or less staying within the DNA of the brand while modernizing.

And I agree that Pilati has proven too much to say they chose the wrong designer. There are plenty you could say that are ill-chosen (Frida, I'm looking at you :innocent:), but Pilati is not one.

if designers are gonna be fired for only a season that we didn't like, then all the fashion houses will end up like Ungaro.

for god sake it is only one skirt with 6 strawberries to pay a tribute to the legendry master who is this collection carries his name & passed away a year ago.

we do see the camilia every year at Chanel, the New Look at Dior's have seen alot lately,....
& today here is an element of Yves Saint Laurent culture, which I thank Pilati in reminding us with it.

And the skirt is really not even that bad! I really cannot believe the fuss over strawberries. It's not like the hearts at Ungaro which were hazardous.
