Alexander McQueen F/W 14.15 Paris

I love all the Yeti stuff and the hair and make-up, and hate everything else.
LOL, OK. I take it back, I just looked at the HQs on style.com. This collection is full of marvelous details and it's so beautifully made. I like how dark and romantic this is, it's nowhere near as kitschy and contrived as Sarah's usual work. The silhouettes and opulence of a lot of this is totally the same as in all her other collections, but she somehow managed to improve all her signature designs and take it to this level and it's awesome. I'm in love.

I continue to hate her. I like that it's not commercial and, but at the same time, even when modified, most of this will just be freaking tacky.

This is pure magic! the extravagant and wild baroque clothes are extremily weld done and Sarah is doing a great job at thou McQueen house. I just hope she frees herself of that confortable zone that she seems to be in and do something wilder than she's doing.

This is McQueen minus any spirit and art. I have yet to like a single collection she has done. They should just let the brand rest in peace and give her her own label so she can continue to dress bland women like Kate Middleton and Allison Williams.

How is this RTW?

That being said, I love this collection. First McQueen collection I've liked in a while. Very much a dark fantasy, reminding me of snow queens and goblins and high fashion trolls. I just wish there wasn't any fur.

immensely uninspiring- and like a couple others, think the fur is beyond awful (for obvious reasons as well as aesthetic ones). the best part is the set. but i've been increasingly disappointed by mcqueen lately- sad.

Am I the only one who thinks that Iris van Herpen should replace Sarah at McQueen?

The mood is there, but it's missing some metal or antlers, maybe a face is painted all black or appears disfigured- something that makes you jump out of your skin and actually look at the figure and the dress. Def better than last season though!

Beautiful set and some very romantic gowns/dresses; I like the darker feel too.

But I agree that this isn't the best it could be. I'd like to see a little more variety.

Yeah I am not convinced that Iris van Herpen should be the one replacing Sarah either. Many times Iris referenced heavily McQueen's works and sometimes a little too "Outfit Lookalikes" for my liking. So she might run into the same problem that Sarah has: too caught up in the McQueen's DNA and not emphasizing their biggest strengths.

As for this collection, a nice step-up from the previous disasters Honey Bee and Warriors. But Sarah needs to ditch the silhouettes because I'm getting bored. The finale dress is gorgeous, however.

A huge improvement from last season. I love everything about this collection. There's something really otherworldly and ethereal and at the same time quite dark. It was beautifully presented, I loved the hair and makeup and the silhouettes were really stunning.

Only seeing pictures of this collection I didn't really like it that much, but after seeing the show and all of this in movement I completely fell in love.

Me too. In fact I still hate the clothes and her one-trick-pony silhouettes. But the mood of the show was fantastic. I love how they used Bjork as the soundtrack.

Methinks Sarah Burton has become a bit too comfortable with Victorian style clothing. I'm hoping for a bit more Tim Burton next season.
