Probably in the minority, but I quite like this. I love all the references to British fashion subcultures like Teddy Girls and Punks, but mixed in with the whimsical and more ethereal part of the McQueen aesthetic. The colour palette and cloud prints are particularly beautiful, and her tailoring is always sublime.
Burton's aesthetic may be slightly "deja-vu" with previous seasons but her decision to resist/reject the whole TikTok, Influencer, early 2000's vibe that has been dominating the fashion landscape over the last few years, is something to be admired and applauded. At least McQueen stands for something and maintains its integrity as a House, which is more than can be said for a lot of brands these days designing exclusively for social media hype and sacrificing all remaining dignity in the process.
