Balenciaga F/W 07.08 Paris

It took me a while to get used to it, but now I like the way Ghesquiere mixed so many different styles. I love these two (but without these shoes!!!)

the shoes are kind of random; lego shoes with 'Led Zepplin groupies'? What the?!

just watched the video on style.com again - what a stonker of a collection....want johdpurs NOW.....

This dress is US$25,595 !!! OMG! How many people can afford THAT?! You could literally buy 4 dresses, a pair of shoes and a bag from Chloe for that much!

Now that I have looked at the entire collection and details on style.com, I can only say 'erk'. :( I just don't like any of this high end attempt to be street chic. Too much effort to mix 'n' match great fabric, texture and color. And I don't think anything is in the least bit flattering to the women.

But one woman's ceiling is another woman's floor. I'm glad some people like this collection.

Sh*t, you could buy two new economy cars, one mid-sized car, a down payment on a house, my college tuition plus room (not board haha), or God knows how many meals for starving kids for the price of that dress!

It's truly ridiculous, even if it is unique, well-made, etc etc.

What materials are all used in that dress? They don't look too unusual...

So true. The price is ridiculous for something that looks like its made out of hankercheifs and marc by marc jacobs dresses all stiched together - with a bit of sparkle added in for 'haute-ness'.

But the thing is, Balenciaga want to limit who wears their clothes. By making the prices higher, they eliminate a lot of people from wearing their clothes - especially second-rate American celebrities :innocent:

I cant visualise any rich people who could afford it, going for that style dress... but I do like it

^^ But is that really an effective strategy? So yeah, Paris won't be wearing it, but like she would anyway. And 25k is ridiculous anyway you stack it.

Balenciaga's prices kill me, Ghesquiere has gone mad

I am so disapointed at the price point...

Here is Gemma in one of the dress. The whole Bedouin Chic could work, but not entirely here. I don't like the shoes.

if those gold pants sold, this dress will sell as well. besides, i can't see them producing too many of these. as always, the genius of nicolas remains that he might not sell this dress, but he'll sell quite a few of the cheaper versions thereof.

Its cute and all but not that damn cute.............why not just buy something couture made ?

the price on that dress is so offensive.

fck, i rather pay for my school loans than getting a dress that looks like a tropical sarong wrapped around your neck!
