I never thought I'd see the day!

I'm so sick at seeing keffiyeh scarves around every teenagers neck and now ghesquiére has turned it into skirts and dresses!!!
If I was making fashion, I would definetely not design something everyone is wearing already.

I'm so depressed, I was really looking forward to this collection:cry:

Tribal. That is all that comes to mind. I have gone back and forth from love to hate. Thinking it is beautiful and rediculous. At the very least I see this collection as much more wearable and piece friendly than SS2007. While editorially SS2007 was neat in reality it was stupid. I am still forming an opinion of this collection.

Wow this is quite a different direction. I don't dislike it though. The clashing patterns work somehow.

Some of the jackets seem nice and I like the last two pics Lena posted, but otherwise I'm not really getting this collection (much like pre-fall). I wish he had done something more with the ikat prints...that could have been really beautiful.

WAIT stop the presses...is that a "B" hanging from the belt loop? Gucci Group is creating a monster.

I've started to like the trousers, definetely something I would wear

I love this, although it's not avant-grade or surprise as his previous collection.
This is something moreback to his early work and customers friendly one......you can see some of the details or silhouttes similar to his work before
I hope this collection sell well........

This seems much more wearable than last season's collection, but it leaves me sort of cold and disappointed. I want to like it, but I don't feel like I'm looking at Balenciaga here.

I like the layering in post #74. The velvet blazer over that black and white number makes for a nice contrast :) I agree with some and I'd have to say that some outfits do remind me of dsquared (overly accessorized) but then I think that others are a very interesting fusion of folky and futuristic.

i dont think its that bad..love some of the blazers and coats..that black outfit Liya is wearing is soo me...its more wearable then last season i think..but the tights-makeup and hair are just awful

I'm slightly surprised at how strong of a link this has with last season's collection. I had been trying to get into his head and was surprised by this. My only complaint is that this presentation is overtly commericial, similar to last season in that regard. You can see all the accessory and product placement dripping from the model's bodies.

But beyond that, this is pure Nicholas Ghesquire. For those that say this isn't Balenciaga, what is? Have you seen the collections Nicholas Ghesquire had done for the house (excluding SS 06 and AW 06-07)? This is a return to form, this is what he had been doing for years, maybe with a braver use of color.

He's employing the repetoire of techniques he's developed over the years, the painfully oranate draping, pathworks of prints and textures, and otherworldly tailoring. This is nothing new for Ghesquire. Although I was expected to be dazzled, I must say this is a well done collection with lots of covetable garments. But one has to wonder how in tune these muddy and overstyled looks are with the world when you have Simons over at Jil Sander who's essentially suggesting the opposite.
