Balmain Mens F/W 11.12 Paris

Complete and utter mad love for the whole collection! He hit the nail on the head as far as my taste is concerned.

that faux-militaria that decarnin has folded into those jackets continues to look as delectable as it ever did. and the introduction of those too-cool-for-school sweaters really make this collection stand apart from most of his other menswear offerings. and the pinch of fur really doesn't hurt. and really, with as over the top as balmain is, it's a wonder that we haven't seen more fur earlier.

It's nothing that new or radical, but I want like 50% of it. Leather jacket with fur collar begs me to buy it. And don't come with Zara, H&M... their's is not even leather/fur and looks like a dog chewed on them already, no one can get "that look" from those stores, on photo maybe, but not in real life and close up; t-shirts and stuff - yes, they are close enough, but not leather or jeans, at least not with H&M/Zara/Topman or whatever, where they can't even sew both legs even and have polyurethane and acrylic instead of leather and fur, and their blazers have a slouchy fit since they lack any lining and proper padding.

I cannot find the whole spirit in this Balmain collection.
It gives a vague impression of discontinued ...
Good for forties

Basic pieces that look great put together... that's it!!! I really like some of the looks but there's nothing new here, I already have things like these in my closet!!! I bet I can pull most of these looks without expending 800 bucks on a cardigan!!!

I agree it isn't very original but the outfits are so phenomenally put together, i love it.

Decarin uses street stompin' boots to ground this collection. Some of it works, some of it just isn't special enough. Hint : if you have to scarf it up like a mummy, what are you trying to hide? I know it's the runway, but still: burying an outfit in accessories won't carry the day. Still, some of the coats are TDF.
