Bruno Pieters S/S 10 Paris

The first outfit Siri's wearing is incredible.

Really not playing to his strengths. If I see any more short drape-y dresses I just might cry (on the inside at least).

This collection seems much softer, and I'm not liking this, especially those first nude looks. Bruno is at his best with hard, angular clothes. Maybe next season he can find a better balance between the two

actually bruno really started out and consistently produced rich, romantic and dramatic work. and i really wish he had returned to that. i just think there's a lack of effort here....maybe even something soulless in its clinical presence. it just doesn't have a life.

He has dropped the angular Teutonic tailoring because it probably doesn't sell, period.

This is much softer for him and has inadvertently touched on a series of trends: draping, nude, translucent layering and lucite. Some of it even has a William Ames (via Giorgio Santangelo) streak to it.
At least he went OUT OF HIS COMFORT ZONE.

i like it... I'm being a bit disappointed by Paris collection so far (although I haven't checked them all yet) and so I find this one not that bad... It's true this isn't the Bruno Pieters we are used to see but I like the idea of the simple, yet elegant aesthetic that is behind the collection. I think he is experimenting with different textures and fabrics, softening the X shapes and so on...and probably in the future he'll do a better job.

I like this collection, I have to admit that I am not that familiar with him, but I sought him out after seeing some of his looks in the models' thread. I usually like color, but I can appreciate it when someone chooses a neutral palette in order to focus the eye on the construction, I am particularly impressed with his draping. My only problem is that there are too many sheer looks, one or two are OK, but this was a bit much, (I know, I know I'm a prude).

what a downfall:ermm:
watching all these safe (aka horrible) collections from such talented designers make me feel as if the economy destroyed everything, and left everyone without a job. but i feel is more that they are overreacting because they are not making as much money as before.. what the hell?

if your clothes are great and there are bad times to come, you should give the very best of you, an amazing collection that would make everyone go "I NEED THAT NO MATTER WHAT", or "WHO NEEDS A SAVING'S ACCOUNT", and not something people can find elsewhere.-_-
