I think I'm in love. I haven't been this excited by a Rick Owens runway collection in a long time. This makes me think of some of his older collections when he first started showing in Paris, before he really became this mega-cult and before his shows became very conceptual in terms of the styling. This has a simplicity to it. And even though I don't ever want to see those loincloth skirts off the runway, I do like that he's decided to show some skin.

This has the excitement that I had for earlier Balenciaga , but Balenciaga has become stale and this is sooo fresh and soo cool. The jackets and jumpsuits . Love it all . 10/10
it's so gorgeous. and i'm so happy he's taken a risk and pushed out into new territory! there's a poetry in this collection that's refreshing to see in a designer like rick owens. also, i love how in a season that's so openly discussing the future, that he's managed to create something that's so true to himself yet SO of the moment.

I didn't love everything of course, but there were a few I really liked...like the hooded coat, the winged jackets, and the cuff!!!!!!! I did love some of the cropped leather JKs with exposed stomach from FW09 but out of practicality reasons, I didn't purchase. But this SS version would be perfect to wear on spring/cool summer days!!!
I was revisiting some of Richard Serra's works recently and it struck me that the bracelets from this Rick collection look just like some of his works, particularly this one:
