As much as I love fashion and more precisely fashion magazines, I've never been obsessed with High Fashion or designer labels, in the traditional sense.
In the 90s many fashion magazines ran Budget Fashion editorials or spreads featuring budget conscious, affordable fashion, us mere mortals could afford without jeopardizing rent payment for the month. the Buy from Harper's Bazaar remains a favorite example for its mix of visual wit and accessible, fun, affordable fashion.
Here's one of my all time favorites, an installment of the "buy" from Tilberis/Baron era Bazaar. Loved the Antonioni inspiration. The ulituarian boho, cinematic twist wasn't an over-used, oft cited theme (which is a problem plaguing fashion these days).
As a former fashion collage, scrap book addict, the slightly half hazard layout, almost animated energy of the still life's, still inspires me.
