Princess Caroline attending a charity event in Monaco. She never used to wear glasses in public, maybe reading glasses now and then. Lately, she has been photographed wearing glasses. I don't care for the style, they look too functional. Glasses can look like an accessory, fashionable and chic. IMO this style is "all business". March 2010. Photo credit: Belga Pictures.

In a way she endears me to her. Her fashion has gone downhill and sure that's not good for her fashion thread but she is just such a mom that it's sweet. I look at her and see a mother not a princess.

I don't mind the glasses, but it looks like she has no makeup on. Which doesn't look great to me.

But I do like her outfit at the equestrian event. It's casual and appropriate.

You are right. I thought that she was just tired that day. Princess Caroline's eyes are quite pretty, but without makeup and with the heavy frames, her eyes look faded, maybe tired. Women should not feel as if they must wear makeup to look feminine and attractive. It must be a pain to always have to get "made up" to go out in public. Unfortunately, the flash from the camera era, and no eye makeup make Princess Caroline's eyes look blank.

^ Yes and the the bulky frames distract from her face. maybe that was the point, to have people notice the eye glasses instead of her bare face. But to me it had the opposite effect, I noticed the glasses and then that she had no makeup on and it doesn't look good. I admit a woman shouldn't rely on makeup to look "pretty" if they don't want to but, after years and years of tanning and smoking Caroline has done a lot of damage to herself and unfortunately, now it is showing. Plus she is and always has been in the public eye, she will always be criticized. I guess it's her choice, but if it were up to me, I'd wear some makeup.

I wonder if Princess Caroline has a stylist to help her. True, she has inherited the "gracefulness" and style of her mother. Princess Caroline makes dressing with taste look effortless. Occasionally she makes a mis-step, but that is rare. She is the first lady of her country. Many meetings and demands upon her personal life come along with her position. And she is a mom. Women in her position don't conduct their lives in the same manner that socialite jet-setters do. How can she be frivolous with her time? She is a busy princess. She is not an image-concious moviestar wasting her time on year-round endless shopping excursions. How does she find the time to put together her wardrobe? Every season brings new fashions, new ensembles, more official functions. By now, her wardrobe must be the size of a small department store! What do ladies in her position do with all of their "last season" clothes?
