This might be my favorite recent Chanel collection. I never expect Karl to re-invent the wheel with his collections like Balenciaga or Hussein Chalayan. But his clothes stay contemporary and still in harmony with chanel aesthetic. Which could be argued is not hard; I mean Chanel is allready so modern.
But this collection seems to be saying something different than his other collections for the house in the past few seasons. It seems to be moving into a more mature direction with his customer. With suit ranging from a linear line and others emphasising the waist with a belt. The dresses seem so easily pulled off and slightly fetishistic with some having black bands and straps.

It's very sweet and romantic, not stiff (that I expected.. I'm sorry..). I love it. I love it. I love it. It's just simply adorable. It is impossible to not be in love with this collection! Romantic and elegance and sweetnes - all the thinks I want in clothes.

i find this to be incredibly boring and rehashed, even for Karl.

Thank God, i thought i'd be the only one in this thread who find it nice but yes boring. Some looks are really nice but there's nothing "waaaw" about this collection. Plus, the make-up is terrible and the hair reminds me of Mary-Kate dirty hair

I love this so much its moved me to comment - I love it all - the set, the dresses, the shoes, the jackets... I think its the best Chanel collection in quite some time - more classic and less gimmicky/tacky - far superior to this spring's disappointing collection with its ugly round shouldered jackets.

Much better then the monstrosity that he presented the last few seasons. As a whole, though, I am not terribly excited about it. I really like some of the pieces though!!

I feel like I've seen it all before, but...I like the overall look better than I have in past seasons. Karl knows the Chanel formula, and it's just a matter of what he feels like doing with it. This season he did well, I think.

I don't like everything, but that is easily made up for by the pieces that I absolutely love. and the set is outstanding which makes the clothes look even better. overall, I'm quite impressed - much moreso than i've been over previous seasons!

It's funny how simple in concept those tights are, but how awesome they look.

They'd go well with those banana heel Pradas from last season.

what could possibly be next for the Chanel Symbols meet Charles Ray? he's made them tiny tiny charms as a part of the joaillerie collection, and huge like this, the summer bow or the concrete-looking jacket of HC.

he always comes up with the best settings.... the boat, the french garden, the circles of the black coats HC collection, the silver archs, the tramways, the planes, the train station, the staircase, the turning audience, the golden theatre of fw06, the HUGE carpet of HC ss 07....
