Dior Couture Cover for wwd of today :flower:

Some of these are a bit blurry but you can see all the details really well. I just love it. The second one is my favourite.

man what a presentation! looks like the couture shows of the 90's with all the supermodels and fabulosa gowns!!!!glad to see eva back 2 her sexy self!

:o:heart:

I don't really know what else to say. It was everything that Galliano is so good at doing wrapped up into one collection. It had all of the drama that his last couture show was missing, it had absolutely beautiful clothes that people can only dream of wearing.

I loved the first grey, Edwardian section, the unfinished couture section after it, all of the black and nude sheer looks, and all of the colors. It was very Dior, but even more so, it was very Galliano.

Some favorites...

I still stand by my original opinion, the "Clients" (nude dresses) portion of the show is the only one that broke the boundaries.

What a stunning collection, and what a show. I only wish my computer was fast enough to view videos of these kind of things. I love HC shows with drama.

thanks for posting guys :flower:

The headpieces are so intricate. The unfinished section has some heart breakingly gorgeous fabric drapes.

imo, this was everything a good couture show should be. Well thought-out and planned, filled with clothes with breathtakingly intricate details, complete fantasy. The set was amazing and models like Naomi, Shalom, Linda E were an awesome touch. And the show was just so perfectly Galliano. Just AMAZING!!!!

the models were working it lots of twirling and posing on the runway, the music was very playful and whimsical, also inca music. The finale rocked!! all the girls were on the runway as john exited the carriage and posed with linda shalom at the end of the runway. cant wait to see the whole thing on dior.com

There's really only one thing I don't like about this collection, the few green/yellow looks towards the end. Maybe it's because I don't like the colors, seperately or together, or maybe because they just seem like costumes in a collection full of clothes.

That was really the only flaw that I found.

If you've ever been to a parade, Ive been to a few, the girls from the Andes (generally Bolivia or Peru) when they walk they spin and twirl in order to get thier skirts to stand straight out, kind of like the models were moving. (1)

I saw the Incan influence in more than just the obvious brightly colored pieces, that dragon thing on that yellow dress (2), the angular heiroglyphics on other dresses(2,3), the black dress (4) had lines and people on it which brought to mind the Nazca lines (which Im surprised Galliano hasnt fully tapped yet). I also felt the two girls with the guns which seemed to be out of place could only be one thing, Pizarro, who went and pillaged the Incans.
