Christian Dior S/S 2006 Paris

I like most of it, for Galliano this is a big step away from the dramatic make-up and 'costuming'. What makes we sad is that you just know that the items that will be sold will be less stunning in their execution or be worn in a tasteless way by Dior's nowadays tacky clientelle. I can see Britney messing this look up.

i like it, galliano has been trying to get the balance right between personality, fashion & commerce in the last couple of seasons, and I honestly think this is the best among the last 2 collections. the nude colour echos right back to the couture show and in the middle section, i felt a little Hemtlut Lang (mid-90s). i do think john has foreseen the come back of minimalism. i simple can't (and shouldn't) compare this with Balenciaga, since Ghesquiere did the show, but, to be fair, I like this Dior show.

I like the colours in this bag - and the reconstruction.

I love it all:heart: but John Galliano looks like a male version of Donatella Versace with the exception of that goatee.

The pieces I like are the Yohji Yamamoto-esque chiffon numbers. Galliano shows mastery of the material from the billowy balloon shapes, ruches, frills, rosette-like bunches to the origami folds, which would have been lost if he were to use prints instead of nude chiffon. They're very pretty but edgy...yum...:)

This from someone who normally DETESTS Dior...and that comparison with Donatella Versace was something I was about to post too, heh...Galliano should shun the limelight a bit more, if that is humanly possible for him.

Amazing. His haute couture laboratorio springs this fresh and modern RTW. The shapes, colors and skinlike appearance are cool and non-living organic. Excellent work.

It's not bad at all. It's not very good, but I couldn't trash it...

When I saw the first few pictures I had my doubts. It looked terrible to me. However... seeing the whole collection now... my mind has completely changed. I don't think it's one of my favourites by any means, however there's... well... yourbestfriend said it... "just something about it" that grabs my attention. I find a few of the pieces quite magical, even.

when i first saw the collection i was like 'oh god nooo, what happened ?

but now, when i've seen way better images i really love most of the pieces !
and the shoes
but most of all i adore the make-up !

so after all, *yaay* me liky :flower:

OH MY GOD i thought this collection is pretty crap with those gettyimages earlier.

but when i see the full pics, it's really amazing.....i love it....simple colours yet looks not simple.

if u see galliano now, he's really following the image of the house. you know it's dior
i think he decided to save his flamboyant shocking collections for his own label. but that's pretty bad. i also want to see them on dior runway

i want to see the shoes   i see little white heels with ribbon

actually i've run away........but i came back :D :D :D :D :D

i don't love it entirely, i'm in love with about 60% of it though.
there are a few pieces that i simply adore, then there are a lot that i adore details of but overall am ifffy about..

the bags with the keys and the coin are really excuisite.i love their unique shape

i like a lot of it. nice to see galliano working within these constraints. if he can do fantastical he can certainly pare it down if need be...

All the pieces look so much better in those full pics like someone pointed out earlier, and I'm really digging all the pretty lace work now and that lovely skirt Julia Stegner's wearing :D but it probably wouldn't look as good off the runway and not on a 5"10 stick insect *sigh* but I take back what I said, absolutely *chomps it down*

What a varied show, should share it's title certain spaghetti western.
Good: I loved the couture show and so would be quite a hypocrite if I said I disliked the courturealike stuff in this collection, I like the way he's handled the sheer fabrics again and quite like some of the jackets.
Bad: the shoes, the white patched or matched with nude and the outfits consisting of knickers and a bandeau top.
Ugly: ORANGE and those horrible jean and leather (????) trousers.
