Christian Dior S/S 2006 Paris

Wow, so my initial response proved wrong. There were quite a few things in there that I liked. All of the nude, ombre pieces were beautiful, and I love the lightness of it all. I could've lived without those few denim pieces but other then that I really liked this collection.

Ai is back!!!! :woot:

The collection itself is a JOKE or what!???!!!  It is riduculous to death, since when are they showcasing LINGERIE!!!! what on earth was gallianno on when he did this.... it is tacky to death........... i cannot believe they let him continue on with dior after hes been litterally destroying the dior empire......... this is truly awful....... the nude dresses are terrible to death..... ..as thought hte couture version of them was not enough...... and the watercolored gowns.... yuck.....

sorry, but i just cannot stand this guy..... i really have trouble seeing his talent...... (if he has any)........ but seems like it works, because people are buying into this ______.

I have very mixed feelings on this collection. There are some pieces I like, but there are many pieces I hate. Also, there's something that isn't quite right with the collection when you review it as a whole imo. Overall it's pretty disappointing.

I like this one a lot, it's so pretty...

not as bad as I had thought. I like the nude dresses a lot. I also like some of the poofy dresses. I hate the watercolor looks with exception for some of the dresses. Meh. I think this was the last Dior show I am going to anticipate.

I fell sorry for the people who spent loads on the Dior nude dresses from the couture show

Just to find some nicer ones were now at the nomal "over the top high price" rarther than the "oh my god that much for a dress" price..

Take a look at the video at www.vogue.co.uk , the music of the show is almost monumental, I love it. Cannot wait to see the whole video! Plus, John looks ridiculous

Boticcelli

Yes, this show is beautiful!!!!

I love nude, who doesnt?

It looks so poetic and femenine on models bodies

Makes me remember of Botticcelli.

It "seems" so simple, and It makes it more and more beautiful.

Galliano knows what he does...

Lovely, lovely, lovely.

Just like a dream...

With perfect touchs of color

Fine like a breath...,

It is like being dressed by layers of air, The construction is fantastic!

And Raquel looks very fragile and pure.

Poetic and Femenine.

That pieces are perfect for a walk by the sky!!!!!!

  Good Galliano:clap:

You still makes me dream with this beauty.

it's not totally ugly as i'd said before, the nude looks are all very nice... the trenches are fabulous, and the underwear is good enough... i still think all those shapeless gradient looks are hideous

I'm divided on this... I like some of the nude dresses, but most of the colorful pieces I dislike.

Judging the collection, though, there are more pieces I dislike than ones I do like.

And the shoes  Terrible, especially after seeing the fall ones...

Thanks for the video, the clothes are great, yay for Ai coming back! But heck, who filmed this?! Made by my head so dizzy. Zoom out, zoom in, sway to the left a bit, zoom in again, zoom out again. But wow, in the split of a second when the camera was not swaying, I managed to catch Hana s.'s walk, and does she have a beautiful walk or what? But Galliano dressed like that strutting down the runway at the end totally slaughtered the show:sick: He positively resembled a camp version of an 80's rock fan:lol:

Now that i've seen the whole collection i like it a lot more, i adore the pieces adapted from the couture show, they look great, I really love all the gradient sheer pieces, even if its been done a million times before.

One thing though...i hate the shoes.

The bags i'm liking, i think, not loving them though, they might grow on me, but the shoes are just plain ugly.

What makes we sad is that you just know that the items that will be sold will be less stunning in their execution or be worn in a tasteless way by Dior's nowadays tacky clientelle. I can see Britney messing this look up.

Haha i totally agree...i can so picture Britney in one of those, fully accessorized with cheetos and Uggs :yuk:

i really loved the jackets...but my fave part of the show was the makeup lol.
i agree that there's something sad and strangely charismatic to this..very drawn to it. even to the less impressive ones; really didn't like the gradient colored ruffle dress.
the bags don't seem too special but it'd definitely be a commercial hit.

someone's cracking the whip over there at lvmh: both marc jacobs and john galliano have worked overtime making extremely accessible yet wholly fashionable collections. this collection may stand as the best collection for dior since galliano began designing for the house. never have we seen galliano fully realize his singular vision in a completely accessible and spectacle-free way. it was just the clothes -- and the bags and the shoes and the make-up -- without any of that circus stuff he's relied on so much in the past.

Watching the video gave me this whole new feeling about the collection. At first, a lot of it looks so soft and delicate, but then paired with the pounding drums and dirty hair and makeup, the girls stomping down the runway in these sort of savage looking dresses....there was something very warrior about it, I can't really describe it, but I could just as easily seen the girls carrying spears and bows instead of handbags....it gave a whole new mood to the clothes, very opposites attract in a way. Soft and strong, refined and savage....I love it!

I like some dresses and the colours. But the show looks so boring. Only bare breasts? Oh please!
