For some reason I really want him to suceed. I imagine if you saw his creations in person you'd be more apprieciative of his craftsmanship. I've read on other blogs that his creations are quite something in person. It's the same with Cavalli, his clothes don't look the most inspiring on the runway pictures, but every Cavalli dress I've ever tried/checked out is so amazing in its finishing. The dresses are so floaty they're like wearing clouds. Anyway back on topic, can't wait to see more, even though I feel like I've seen this before (but that seems to be the case a lot in NY this season).Thanks for the pics wongak.
edit: That blue dress is disgusting, but the brown one shoulder organza/ruffle dress is amazing, reminds me of Armani Prive SS08.

it just looks so cheap.
if you aren't going to do anything revolutionary aesthetically, you better make sure your construction is impeccable and your materials are rich. This has neither.

^I agree about the materials, but I think few designers today can boast Christian's construction...maybe it will take time for him to translate it into a great readywear collection.

its new york worthy definately not paris
there are PLENTY of nyc designers doing more interesting and precise construction in their pieces

I think that with a bit more experience he can create some seriously stunning looks. I think that he really does have amazing potential

^seriously? You don't think his handywork is good, even if it's not perfect, I wouldn't say it's "nothing special". I agree about Paris, he definitly isn't ready for a full on couture collection or anything but I don't think even Michael Kors (who was a judge on PR) could make some of his pieces. I just want him to suceed, I agree that just because he's from TV that he's bad. Lets not forget he's only 22 or 23.
I wouldn't say he designs clothes so much as he upholsters them.
I think people were so wowed by his technique because in the context of a Project Runway challenge what he was able to do was impressive. But the quality of design during a project runway challenge and during NYFW is entirely different, and when you hold this stuff up to lines like Calvin, Donna and Marc the flaws become apparent. Granted he's at a different level then they are, but designers like Rodarte and Jonathan Saunders who are also working on a smaller scale still manage to execute their designs very well. Besides, no one told him to show at fashion week at such a young age, so really there isn't any excuse for sending sloppy pieces down a runway.
That taupey gown is a mess, as is the short brown draped one. The pieces that don't look bulky or messy are just nothing impressive. And I still think he has an awful eye for color/creating a palette.

The clothes are ok not great but still good but the shoes are super hot I wonder if he did them or if they got them from another designer.
