I also have pictures of Label Under Construction S/S 05 and I will post them in a seperate thread if there is enough interest.

Nice coat.
This item may be good for my summer jacket.. if it comes in a white version?
I still love the simple white Linea jacket though

These pants are a kind of embodiment of my view of 'perfect minimalism'

Actually, I believe that C diem is the only one to use this material.
It looks like thier typical glazed horse-hide to me.

glazed horsehide...hmm...faust...maybe that's what your ann boots are?... :innocent:

thanks for the pics raijin...i was petting those pants earlier today...those and the 3/4 jkt are def my faves...
to me...it's the most luxurious form of pajamas possible...those pants are perfect...

am i the only one getting confused...can someone breakdown the different labels for me please...
carpe diem...
linea...
what else...?...and what are the distinguishing differences please...

thanks...
:flower:

Carpe Diem is mostly treated and crushed leathers (leather shirts, leather 3/4 jackets)
and shoes, boots.

Its mostly often lumped together with Lmaltieri, which is a line of knitted items that came off of Carpe Diem and now includes collared shirts, t-shirts, jackets, pants, etc
The black jacket would be from Lmaltieri as well as the pants.

Some people consider these 2 the same brand.

Linea is seperate line in 'continues' with a different concept, but
I think it shares some fabrics with other lines.
More slim cut, based on black white and grey color, although it looks like that changed this season.

Sartoria and Anatomica are bespoke lines based on Linea.

Ahem, I've said that before  It doesn't make much difference, I guess. The reason I thought it was horsehide is because they are from the collection in which Ann used a lot of horsehide (F/W 02-03).

That black shoe is snake-skin incased in a thin layer of rubber to make it appear dirty looking. This is because the skin is naturally a bit shiny.

How do you know all the fabrics? Does the description come with photos?

Sometimes the shop assitants give me details about the production methods and materials, thats all. Im beginning to familarize myself with Maurizio's techniques.

As far as I know, they are not.
Its possible a multi-label high-end store (ex. Alain Bizerlain) will stock them, but generally you do not find a stellar selection there.

for good or evil, C diem is entirely in hands of one designer, Maurizio Altieri who was not given any special training in fashion, tailoring, etc. his genuine enthusiasm for creating what he needs & local industry to materialize his vision exhaustively, these are what make C diem C diem.
this is essentially just his own small world where he can satisfy himself. so he doesn't care what other people think or say at all. there have actually been lots of eccentric pieces including even absurd-looking ones. on the other hand, also truly interesting and fine work regardless of martetability.
occasionally productivity is uncertain. but they are never irresponsible. just amateurish as regards such things because they are all artisans. new creation called "anatomica (bespoke)" should have come out by now. but they were swamped with orders for Sartoria (also bespoke line) beyond expectations last fall and, after all, could not fill all the other orders including my personal ones I mentioned somewhere before. they are suspended for an indefinite period.
some people have criticized them for those. it is indeed a serious problem that business commitments are not fulfilled (even if every single moment takes top priority in their world). but I have never seen such unmixed labels without cleverness as this. also never seen such label last this long.

for all those faults I purely and simply like them best of all brands in the world. and I know I'm not the only one.
they always have masterpieces which can blow my mind. I would get them even if I don't know what they are. the peculiar charm is beyond reason. maybe it's the kind which appeals to one's instinct.
when the stuff first came out here, it made a strong impression. a pair of boots attracted me, so I went to the store a few days later, deciding to get it. but the boots in all sizes were already sold out although it's completely unknown to us at that time. I missed the legendary two-toned military boots.

Thanks runner - that was interesting.

I'm not sure I get it (probably my fault) not do I think I have the money for it, but I'll definately look more closely at it than I have before - I'm going to Paris in a month so will see it at L'Eclaireur.

thanks a lot for all the photos raijin

new patternmaker replaced the predecessor recently. so the fit will change a little this season, for an easier fit. it will be rounded a little more.
signature calf leather becomes much lighter and thinner. but just in case each retailer buy the existing leather specially, it will continue to be in the store.
they seem to discontinue using the name "LMaltieri" this time. I don't know this will be true because it is said since 2003.
this spring is marked by the first addition of denim items to the collection.

finally...runner speaks...:woot:

;) ...:P ...

how long have you been wearing carpe diem runner?
when was the label first started?...

you are welcome Johnny

he launched "Carpe Diem" in 1994, softgrey
maybe I got it in 1998 for the first time.

i see ...thx..you're a very loyal fan...

Im very exicted to see the denim items, that is an amazing jacket that Maurizio is working on.
