Kanye has been posting random people on his Instagram that disagreed with him for months now. He has been posting photos of people who worked at adidas or gap. He always ends up regretting it the next day and making amends with them.

He is extremely out of touch, and everyone around him encourages his erratic behavior. I empathize with him a lot, since he has gone through deeply traumatic things.

I know a lot of people here aren’t his fans, but his friend Tremaine refers to “we will always have uganda”. They went through a traumatic event last year there and their lives were at risk. Kanye has been extra paranoid since then. He started wearing bullet proof vests and acting like everyone is out to get him.

He is deeply troubled but at the end of the day he brings the clicks and the money the brands need. Someone at Balenciaga leaked his purchase history earlier this year and he had spent over $1M in the store himself.

He's an extremely privileged man with an opioid problem so deep it's f*cked up his cognitive reasoning probably for life, and for all the 'Let's cancel the Sacklers!' pearl-clutching chants, people are somehow fine with someone displaying his addiction so grossly and openly and clearly very much untreated just because he can financially afford to continue to operate without treatment and go as far as parade and glorify his disease and package it as some form of reality. It doesn't matter if he has constant breakdowns and manic episodes in broad daylight, if he's publicly harassing his ex-wife and sending death threats to other people, we're at a moment in culture where celebrity ranks above common sense and clearly basic education, and if the guy once made a catchy hip-hop tune, then he must be genius, the messiah we were waiting for and we should all at least give someone who can't even type because, like he said, he's not once read a book, 'the benefit of the doubt'.

I remember him when he started coming to the shows with his stylist girlfriend back in the day around 2006/2007, he was known to buy a lot of clothes for himself and his girlfriend. He was a great client of the house I was working for already and both his spending power, interest in fashion and humility (unbelievable right!) made it possible for people to like and embrace him.

I think what he understood around that time was that fashion was a real circle of power and influence and that’s why he wanted to be part of that so much!

That totally makes sense. I guess because I am not a Balenciaga customer and put my money elsewhere, that I cannot imagine spending that much there. I am a man that doesn’t have a girlfriend to buy for so that might be the difference.

^ frankly it would be a huge red flag to have a boyfriend who gifts you Balenciaga.

People don't go from humble to as*holes.. or the other way around. They go from waiting-to-be-an-as*hole-and-playing-it-shy-as-I-assess.. to unapologetic a*shole, or from a*shole to humiliation so 'acting humble from now on'. It's got to do with integrity, it's not a button you switch on and off.

At the time, in KoV's words, he was being dog walked by that one girlfriend who must've thought he was too savage and introduced him to fashion. Then he was on a journey of s*cking up to practically everyone in the industry cause he wanted oh so bad to be accepted. Didn't he ask to be some kind of observant student or something along the lines at Antwerp? lol (why not submit an application like everyone else?).

I think it says a lot that he's ready to burn every bridge (family, friends, music industry) but god forbid he burns the bridge with Vogue haha, a true 'fashun' fan.

No I don't think it has anything to do with whoever his current beard girlfriend is, I think anyone spending millions on RTW from a single brand in a 12 month period is ridiculous. He must just be indiscriminately buying hundreds and hundreds of pieces. If they had better offerings I might understand lol. Perhaps he’s just obsessively collecting?

Can't deny that he has genuine interest/passion in fashion and I like the idea of a vertically integrated brand. He mentioned buying a factory this week. What he needs is a Robert Duffy figure and to stay out of trouble and offline.
