Designer & Fashion Insiders Behavior (PLEASE READ POST #1 BEFORE POSTING)

Once-visionary and exclusive brands selling out to the lowest common denominators aside, LOL @the mainland Chinese being so sensitive about the Hong Kong and Taiwan situation… I’m glad the mainlanders are offended (if they really are offended or just a power play to have these brands kowtow to their every whim). Every Chinese that is not from the mainland does not support the Communist State and backs Hong Kong and Taiwan unconditionally.

If only the likes of Versace and Coach were genuinely making a political statement in support of Hong Kong and Taiwan. But it’s just likely that their marketing teams are ignorant to the socio-political state of China and some department management signed off on those tees without knowing it was a faux-pas— and that they had absolutely no political statement to make in the first place. Stay dense, Donatella: Keep at safe, trendy PC-hollowness— but more importantly, profitable gimmicks like “no to real fur” and “diversity and inclusivity". Fashion people have never been the brightest, nor the most sincere bunch.

Now that's a t-shirt. Yes, please!

It doesn't say much honestly, but here it is.
God can the two of them go up in flames already. For every good thing they’ve ever done they’ve completely cancelled it out with the majority of their consistent behavior. They literally are like trump with racists making their uneducated troll base feel like they have any ounce of empowerment to judge things so far out of their spectrum of understanding. For two people who supposedly worked in fashion they know a whole lot of nothing and perpetuate a ton of problematic stuff. I’m still blown away they weren’t shut down hard for a ton of liable accusations they have knowingly made based off personal bias and paid sponsorships.

Ahaha! Simon is going Hollywood now...
I know it was his dream all along. Don’t let him « humble persona » fool you...

The Kardashian are very « cagole » in their way so I guess it reminds him of Marseille.

I wonder if he will hangout with Olivier now that they have the « same friends »

Ugh knew it was this - he has been bouncing around all the weho gay spots too. Literally was on my friends story out and about and looked wasted. (Nothing wrong w that but facts lol). Prob why Gordon didn’t want him anymore.

I mean tacky goes where tacky goes

Never have understood his allure, clothing and looks wise. He’s maybe a 6 on a 10 scale in my book and that’s on appearance.

I find him cute and I like his clothes...
I just feel like sometimes he is a bit unauthentic and I find his fake candor annoying.

Can you give any specific examples? Not saying you're wrong, I just haven't noticed any examples of this and I know you work in the industry so are much better educated.

It's one thing to go Hollywood (everyone does it, from Theyskens to JWA), but the Kardashians? Worse still, the 2nd least relevant one on their hierarchy, only a notch above the brother? I mean, it's not even Kim or Kendall.....
You are the company you keep.

They fail to educate their followers that the referencing rule is if it’s 10 years plus it’s fair game. Accusing and destroying designers reputations for referencing a Bill Blass design from the 70s isn’t copying its normal. It’s like saying oh you made a pair of jeans so you must have copied Levi’s etc. Sure the Virgil digs are warranted and that recent and blatant of copying is and calling out racism etc but calling people like gosha (not defending gosha just an example) a child molestor w/o solid facts and allowing the police to investigate is grossly irresponsible and dangerous for the supposed victim. Stuff like that are why I say what I do. Also have you seen them try to curb their followers who tell people that their kids should kill themselves in comments and dm or others that just say oh I don’t agree with you and then have their pages flooded with trolling that at times the duo actually likes the comments etc. Happened to a friend of mine recently when they commented they were biased, she was called pig, fat, wh*re, idiot etc.

Addition Tony runs a men’s line that is copying Prada and others prints but never mentions that also. It’s literally a line of shirts that are “copies” of Hawaiian shirts lol the hypocrisy lol.

All in all as someone in the industry most brands besides the ones that pay them don’t even want them at their shows anymore as they have alienated everyone with their own self interest/egos. Those that pay them for positive “press’s also includes brands like Prada, Gucci, Matches, and Valentino. Remember how easy they were on Prada for the blackface monkey then next post called them visionaries for the frankenstein collection lol. I have personally seen their emails to brands asking for free clothing and then have seen them suddenly post negative about the brand when it’s not fulfilled

It’s super important for people that claim to be journalist or shadow as one to ensure they verify their facts extensively and that they just don’t do anymore. Fame and power have gone to their heads.

He’s a tad late to be chasing the Kardashian crew even if it was Kim but I mean you are right with the company you keep. Narcissists love other narcissists.

Virgil Abloh Announces He's Taking Time Off
The Off-White and Louis Vuitton designer will not attend Paris Fashion Week due to health conditions.

New York, UNITED STATES — Virgil Abloh, the Off-White founder and men's artistic director at Louis Vuitton, said Monday that he will take a few months off.

In a statement to BoF, Abloh’s team said that the designer was “shifting gears to a pace less than his usual constant work and travel, for a few months, due to health considerations.”

“He continues to work closely with his teams at Louis Vuitton Men’s and Off-White as well as with brands he collaborates with around the world,” Abloh’s team told BoF.

As a result, Abloh will not be present at Off-White’s Paris Fashion Week show, but his team said he was “designing the Off-White show in Paris to replace his attendance with a creative new approach that will include crowd participation.”

"I was just tired, so I went to the doctor," Abloh told Vogue. "Ultimately everything is fine, but the doctor told me ‘this pace that you’ve sort of pushed your body— to fly all these miles, do all these different projects—is not good for your health.’”

Abloh’s representatives did not elaborate on his health condition, but the news, first reported by American Vogue, comes as Abloh has become one of the busiest designers in fashion and is known for his nonstop, jet-setting lifestyle. In addition to working on Off-White and Louis Vuitton, the designer has collaborated with brands like Ikea, Nike, Kith, SSENSE, Jimmy Choo, and Rimowa, among others.

This fall, Abloh is scheduled to have an exhibit showcasing his work at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. The designer also just joined the Council of Fashion Designers of America as a new board member and hosted a retrospective of his work in Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art.

I mean, you don't have to milk every single thing that comes your way Virgil, you still have time ahead of you to make money. I hope he feels better though, and let this be a lesson that everyone should listen to their body and have a balanced life. Rest is important.

James Scully mentioned on IG about how many girls reported fittings lasting 8+ hours only to have them canceled last minute. He also said many girls were crying backstage at Michael Kors.

Looks like fashion week shenanigans are back. Lets hope this isn't the norm for the rest of the season.

He was talking specifically about the Marc Jacobs fittings (at least that's how I understood it) - the girls crying at Michael Kors were supposedly crying because of this.

Ahh. Thanks for clarifying!

Not cool, Marc.

I personally don’t feel bad for the model doing an 8-hour fitting, even if she ends up cancelled.

No one here is wasting tears on any of the team member’s who usually put in 3-4 sleepless nights prior to show day, after a culmination of months of hard work, oftentimes having their product dropped from the catwalk. It is what it is.

A lot of people work really hard to make a show happen. Not just a model.

This exactly the kind of attitude which makes people believe that they can mistreat and abuse models.

Models are people providing a service to these, usually, multi-million dollar brands. The people on the team you talk about and who lose out on a couple days of sleep are on staff and will get a salary when all is said and done. The models typically aren't paid for shows and when they spend all that time doing fittings, only to be canceled prior to the show, it sucks! It happens, but that doesn't take away from how it makes them feel.

Compassion has become a thing of the past apparently...
