^ For that price, you should not have to worry about how thick the item you wear under it is. Besides...no one likes wearing a t-shirt with a wool coat.

hi all

new member here. firstly, apologises in advance as i'm sure this has been asked earlier on this thread, but does anyone know where to get the gold boots?

a little information on the boots.. they did a re-buy (special orders) at the end of last month, but nothing that will hit the stores - it's just for people who asked to be in the order (at least that's what understand of it)

there are a few gold boots (full gold) at the Vegas boutique I believe..

The necklace is actually very nice. I guess you could call it thin? But how heavy is silver really supposed to be? The solid silver rings and bars on the necklace are quite heavy though, for their size, but I don't really expect a silver chain to be that heavy.

And concering the waistcoats from Reflection, I'm pretty sure they were just plain waist coats that were absolutely covered in pins and chatelaines, which you cand still buy a few places online. I don't think they ever sold a coat that came pre-adorned with the pins.

I realized that after doing a bit more searching. I just assumed after seeing Albert's shirt with the emblems screened on that they came that way. There are a few of the pieces on ebay (sans the chains), but they're 150+ each! I can't imagine how much a fully adorned coat or waistcoat will end up costing.

thanks for that mouko. where they the full gold ones? i would die if i bought the black and gold ones above by mistake!

As far as I know, there hasn't been a place in the states that carry the two tones. They're all solid gold variants, though I never asked why there is a new, higher ankle boot version with a not so nice seem running diagonally down the side.

I'm not sure about now, but earlier silver DH accessories were made entirely from silver referred to in French as argent massif which was the reasoning behind the extremely high price tags that adorned the items. Current accessories i find to be simply on the tacky and cheap side (both aesthetically & quality-wise).

In regards to the pins & chatelains of Reflection, they were all sold separately with varying prices of around £80 - £180 each from what i can mildly recall.

Jost,

I won't get into this whole nitty gritty house/designer/image debate but thats an interesting point you make regarding the similarities in the marketing strategies for both Dior Femme & Homme. Would one suppose the business model for both are the same, or at least very similar? I wouldn't be surprised.

i agree..still deciding:unsure:
(maybe i should stick to my bv and leave dh alone...)

^I would stick it out and wait until the next fall/winter collection is released. Go to the store early, and see what they have.

Another fitting question for you guys here... i asked on the MSN forum, but I thought I'd ask you guys as well:D

Anyone get a chance to try this leather jacket on when Luster was in stores?

http://img209.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/users/0/9/3/7/sbr_149-img512x445-1128349673showletter-1.jpg

The jacket is tagged as a 50, but the measurements are a little odd... the shoulder width translates to a 16 inch, and the chest is 48 cm based on their description. I had figured that since I wear a 50 in the suits (even the super slim cut versions) and the jacket/coat/blazers I could work the 50 in the leathers from Luster as well, but I just want to be sure before I drop 4 figure sums haha.

I always take their measurements with a grain of salt though, but unfortunately I don't have any comparison either.

I'm hoping to pick it up, but before I drop the money I want to make sure it'll fit.

I think I could wear it with just a thin tee or something like it underneath, but it won't be so tight as to be hard to breathe right? haha

Thanks in advance for everyone's help!

If someone can just confirm that the 50 in this is similar to the 50 in the 4 front pocket leather jacket also from Luster, then this'll be just peachy keen

Thanks guys!:flower:

You would be right if I simply followed the look of the show again and again... gladly I am in the position where I can chose from several designers that I like and appreciate, it´s not solely Dior Homme and even then, it wouldn´t mean that the way I´d dress in the collection would ultimately make me look like a Pete Doherty lookalike...

You should also realise that Hedi Slimane as the creative director of a label as Dior Homme doesn´t design the range in it´s entirety all by himself... he has got several people under his belt doing branches like leather goods, footwear and others... and even within the ateliers, it´s not like the assistants don´t have the chance to contribute something... being a creative director doesn´t solely mean you design clothes, it´s rather like being the chancellor... you give the direction but you might not execute it all by yourself... that´s what separates a designer from a label, and Dior definitely falls in the latter category... it would have been a different thing if Hedi designed under his own name, not as part of any of the conglomerates.

So it is the direction of the designer that makes the label...I can't see how you can seperate that. Even Hedi did not execute the work it is his direction that make the cut. And it does not make a difference at all if he is designing it under his own name since Dior Homme has no legacy at all before Hedi appointment as creative designer! As you already know that!

It's hilarious how much people twist others' words around in their minds. Lighten the f*ck up. I never said I disliked Hedi Slimane. My point was that I like nice clothes, and I don't give a sh*t who is designing them as long as they are amazing. Carol Christian Poell designs incredible clothing. If some random guy named John Smith was designing the same thing...whatever. It's good clothing. Period. How difficult is that to understand? Keep your pretentious drivel to yourselves.

I get the feeling that some people would still think Hedi was a genius if he sent trashbags down the runway.

I guess you should look back at that. No one has mention that. So guess who is the one twisting his own words? I rest my case! And so far he hasn't sent any trashbag down the runway so we can still hope on that!

Mssr Slimane here is just being disputatious. Clearly.

Hedi, wrong emoticon. You want the one of the guy with the shovel digging deeper and deeper into the ground.

Anyone using a famous name has got to be a attention seeker! That's you Hedi!!

355 really? strange, it's 300 on eluxury. Im really considering getting one, it's just like you said though they're pretty thin. so torn.

i want to see that shirt in person.

Also, anyone know if those pendant waistcoats from Reflection were ever made and if so how much they retailed for? The ones with all the pendants and chains.

and I found this on yahoo japan. All I can say is...gross

Haha, yeah those shoes are nasttyyyy. You can see some crazy pieces on yahoo japan though. Rare stuff sometimes!

As for the pin/chatelain pieces from Reflection, the only piece that I am aware of that had embroidered emblems and shields on it was the dress shirt on the runway. I took another look at the firstview pics and nothing else looks embroidered, just pinned with a ton of pins and chatelains.

yeah, it is crazy expensive if you think of each pin being $150-300! It looks quite stunning to have so many pins on a slick black jacket/vest/coat, but I would be absolutely fearful of losing a pin. On top of that, the pin portion of each chatelain and shield is quite wide. I don't like the idea of piercing any crazy expensive pieces I own with anything. I never pin name tags to my blazers, always pin them through the boutonniere slit on the left lapel.

Some people on the msn forum have pin collections, which I bet look badass when worn, but you honestly need something like 4-5 of them to get that "look", and then we're talking like $750 minimum! Expensive accessory!

As for the necklace/charm things, why not wait until the sale. The eagle design is clearly made only for this season so it'll probably go on sale since the image is shifting next season. I'm sure at least some will make it to sale.

I was just in the store today and they got a lot of new items in, including the much awaited beaded white leather jacket from the runway. It is indeed $23,000 and is absolutely beautiful. The detail and quality is remarkable, as I'm sure you'd expect for the price. The Parisian embroidery house Lesage, notorious for their work with the coveted love wound shirts from Red are responsible for all of the beadwork on the jacket, which also helps explain the price.

I got myself a pair of jeans from S/S 05 that had been in the store. They're the lightly distressed blue denim that's carried over from season to season, which means they never go on sale, but they fit amazingly well and they're made in Japan:D . Definitely a good purchase.

I guess Hedi took note as to what was mentioned on the MSN forum a while back in regards to the website - it's been completely revamped!

It now resembles the very first DH website with the black/red lines/boxes, only this time its monochromatic.

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to show you all some pics of my completed blood wound shirt... something like 20 man-hours went into this little bastard, but I think it turned out well!

yeah... I won't be touching needle/thread/sequins for a while at least. it was ridiculous!

My other completed piece... I added a final black strip at the botton and took in the sides on the bottom for a more fitted look. Wore this out out with some other Dior pieces and it worked out pretty well too^_^
