Hey everyone!

I just wanted to show you all some pics of my completed blood wound shirt... something like 20 man-hours went into this little bastard, but I think it turned out well!

Holy f*cking sh*t, it looks amazing!!!! Kudos to you man, awesome work! Man, can't wait to see your buttondown version (if you ever get the willpower to do it all over again that is).

Wow that is crazy! It looks incredible...seriously, f*cking perfect! Well done.

Well done.

Great works!! Just terrific!
What materials did you use in order to make them blood and white-black tees?

Thats awsome! Looks really great!

I'm tempted to make one myself but I don't know where to start. You wouldn't mind writing a short tutorial on how to make a love wound like that? Some sharp closeups of the wound so that I can copy the shape wouldn't hurt either.

hahah albert too good. Though I think when I do mine I'm totally gonna do it with matte sequins. It looks like you're a magical being that got pierced through the heart. Going back hunting in the garment district tomorrow. I think it would be cool though if you had like a shimmer dress shirt with those sequins.

Albert that's amazing! You're giving Lesage a run for their money there!! :mowhawk:

Another fitting question for you guys here... i asked on the MSN forum, but I thought I'd ask you guys as well:D

Anyone get a chance to try this leather jacket on when Luster was in stores?

sbr_149-img512x445-1128349673showletter-1.jpg

The jacket is tagged as a 50, but the measurements are a little odd... the shoulder width translates to a 16 inch, and the chest is 48 cm based on their description. I had figured that since I wear a 50 in the suits (even the super slim cut versions) and the jacket/coat/blazers I could work the 50 in the leathers from Luster as well, but I just want to be sure before I drop 4 figure sums haha.

I always take their measurements with a grain of salt though, but unfortunately I don't have any comparison either.

I'm hoping to pick it up, but before I drop the money I want to make sure it'll fit.

I think I could wear it with just a thin tee or something like it underneath, but it won't be so tight as to be hard to breathe right? haha

Thanks in advance for everyone's help!

If someone can just confirm that the 50 in this is similar to the 50 in the 4 front pocket leather jacket also from Luster, then this'll be just peachy keen

Thanks guys!:flower:

I tried it on. I would've kept it too if the sleeves weren't so damn long. 50 fits like a normal 48, just like the nylon military jacket from Luster you had.

no problem mate, I'll take some closeups along with sequin technique pix later on this week.

Thanks for the compliments on the shirt, I agree with mouko that a matte sequin version would be better. Unfortunately none of the bead stores around here carry anything but the faceted sequins and the tubular beads used are glass and have a red foil interior so it's not so matte either. Mouko, let me know if you are able to find the small flat sequins and solid red plastic beads!

For the black version that I bought all the same components for, even though the sequins are faceted, it won't be as brilliant just because its... well, black hahaha.

Yeah, a dress shirt version is slated for the future, but I need a break from all this. Once you get started though, it's not too bad. Toss on the TV and just sew. You just have to have patience.

As for the patterns, I just looked at the real blood wound shirt and sketched out what i wanted mine to look like. If you look at the two, you'll see some slight differences. I think the magic of doing it yourself, is that you can adjust and change things up a bit as you see fit.

Faust, thanks for the info on the jacket. I'll be bidding to win on that bad boy! If it fits exactly like the padded one I had, then it'll be snug, but not uncomfortable. Just perfect;)

TailorBell, the only materials I used for both projects were tees from American Apparel and some beads & sequins for the blood wound shirt.

For the Strip shirt, I just took apart a white and a black tee and refit the measured pieces. Then I cannibalized the bottom portion of one of the tees to add in the final black strip on the bottom of the finished product. Had to tailor it a little too since it didn't fit quite right. Unfortunately, one of the issues with the shirt (more evident when it is laying down than when worn) is that the grain of each piece doesn't match the one above it so it doesn't lay completely flat as you can see. Not really that big of a deal when it's on your body.

The blood wound shirt, I just applied the sequins and beads to a black american apparel tee that cost me $15. Total cost of the sequins and beads was around $10 and it's enough to make probably 5 more shirts.

hooray!

I realized that after doing a bit more searching. I just assumed after seeing Albert's shirt with the emblems screened on that they came that way. There are a few of the pieces on ebay (sans the chains), but they're 150+ each! I can't imagine how much a fully adorned coat or waistcoat will end up costing.

As far as I know, there hasn't been a place in the states that carry the two tones. They're all solid gold variants, though I never asked why there is a new, higher ankle boot version with a not so nice seem running diagonally down the side.
I think they are the ones i like. has anybody seen them in england?

Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you all know that i've got a pure white signature Strip arm pouch for sale. Never worn, in perfect pristine condition.

i'll be putting it up on ebay tonight, but I wanted to let DH fans here and on the MSN forum have a first go at it!
I'm asking $425 and that'll include shipping anywhere in the world!

PM me for photos

Thanks,
Albert

so i saw the 24,000 dollar jacket today, and it was stashed away in the closet, was in on the floor bartholemeow? it was wrapped in a plastic and in a special gray garment bag. i was gonna take a pic but they said no, if andy was there he woulda let me shoot. anyways the multi colored flowers are made with multiple sequence in a circular shape. also there are long beads shaped like rice and in pearl color in between all the flower sequence which is hard to see on the runway. the pearl beads actually look like little maggots. the jackets beads are overwhelming i can see why they are asking 24,000 for it. also the bottom hemm and cuffs are made out of the same material used on the pearl sweaters, that fluffy fuzzy wool.

i was in harrods today and overheard the SA taking about holding the jacket for a customer. they also had one on display- hardly impressed- i'd rather blow £10k on the pony prince of wales check coat at hermes.....

I just got my jeans...I love the weathered detail of the metal details, like hte CD plate on the back, nice fabric
