Dior Surf Chick

This summer, Dior is launching a line of surf gear, including surfboards, called "Dior Surf Chick."

Have any of you seen any of the pieces from this collection? Some are in the April issue of Elle magazine. There are going to be pants, tanktops, dresses, hats, and all kinds of stuff: all printed with the "Dior Surf Chick" print fabric, as seen on the surfboard below. I'll post some more photos later. IMO, this stuff is pretty hideous.

I don't think the pattern is hideous at all. In fact I think it's quite cute.
However would any real 'surf chick' be caught dead in this stuff?

It's for the wannabe surfers IMO

Exactly! Which is why my jaw dropped as I was flipping the pages of Elle and noticed that it said "Dior"

I'm not sure if those slippers are Dior or not, but probably not.

However, they have done some in the past

Your so right. They all look like mid-western tourists scouted on the E train. How sad. I think whats worse is that I'm sure that the Hamptons is going to be filled with this trash this summer. UGH!

Wow. Dior has hit a new low. Just when you thought they couldn't possibly sink much lower.

I'm curious to see just how low they will go in the future.

The Dior people are certainly doing their best to undermine any possible claim they have to being a credible "luxe" label.

They're turning into Pierre Cardin... What's next? Dior BIC lighters?

It is my only assumption that Dior is trying to target a much much younger audience. But seriously those clothes look like something from Wet Seal or Mish Mash or Old Navy.

It's awful.

I think Dior has seen what Roxy and other popular, growing names have done with female surfwear, and figured they could carve some kind of a niche. I think it's awkward. I'm a huge Roxy fan and my fiance is a surfer. Wait till I tell him. He'll be confused for sure.
