If they want to "save" it, they need a big name that either will bring their following or that has the capacity to develop a very commercial product that appeals to a vast amount of people.

Hedi's name being thrown out to me makes zero sense based on his history with Kering. The main name going around is MGC which could make sense since shes merchandising driven with a track record of actually selling. There's also be rumours for years that she wanted to go back to Italy.

If they go for another nameless CD, they're shooting themselves in the foot. They need to make a coup and get someone that will make people want to let Gucci back in.

Gucci is supposed to be their bread n butter... they cannot choose another nameless person with 0 identity. Michele paid off because he had such a strong point of view. Gucci customers will eat up anything new and wild just to show off their stuff. That is something they cannot achieve with such quiet and 0 personality collections. Had SDS collections been under tod's or loro or even Celine, im sure people would have appreciated it. Just not something so big as gucci.
