Discussion: Who Should Be The Creative Director of Gucci?

Half-joking but it might be the time to try and launch an IA designer.
Do they want to innovate, be trend-setting, disruptive and ahead of the game ?
Is it 2025, yes or no ? Show me what an IA is capable of !!!!
It couldn´t be worse than Sabato, that´s for sure!

I´d like someone unknown and new...with a different vision and with talent. I am bored of thinking about all the same designers (PPP, Mary-Grace, Kim, etc) in Gucci. It´s gonna be the same case as Michele at Valentino: the same; but with a different logo.

he somehow has some cult gen z following
It all started with his first flamboyant couture shows with big puffy Ball gowns worn by either supermodels or nepos with cult following (Gigi, Natalia Vodianova, Naomi, Katia). This got all the attention from the basic gay fashionistas and tiktok People obsessed with fashion virality and wow moments (è.g. ideservecouture). Then the super inclusive models castings with black models opening and/or closing his shows helped a lot too. The FW22 show Pink PP show ultimately boosted his popularity because of the shock of the color.
Give a basic gay and a dumb tiktok girlie a huge Ball gown overly embellished and they are gonna go nuts...

Aw now wait, I feel bad lol. Imagine finding out you're just the disposable placeholder while they're waiting out somebody's non-compete

the big legacy Italian houses (excluding Prada) all seem to be at a bit of an inflection point. Versace, Armani, Gucci, Ferragamo, Dolce & Gabanna, Valentino... I don't see there being space for them all to thrive/survive.

On the other hand... Etro's reinvention is interesting and encouraging.
Wait what’s happening at Etro Im a bit behind and will investigate now!

Tbh, even if they have someone new, there was no need to fire him now. Waiting three more weeks would've hurt nobody and you do things the right way.
not for the investors /stock holder/analyst etc doing it before 4th quarter of the year results thats on 11th i think will send a stronger signal as ceo to these stakeholders that they/he mean business to turn around of the brand in a positive upward trajectory with his clear decisions .

honestly ..... i would do the same

I don’t know… I get your point, but it would’ve been as valid saying the next collection would be Sabato’s last. I think it’s more refined and classy, something Kering has missed with most of its designers.
