Discussion: Who Should Be The Creative Director of Gucci?

Do they really think they can turn gucci into hermes? And why would that be a good thing? Quiet luxury is a trend, it will pass.

Gucci is the brand that it is today because of tom ford. He turned gucci into a trendy brand, not a anonymous heritage house.

I think the strategy may be to launch brand with more strong, seasonless, but identifyible (not too generic) basics and commercial line, and then to have here and there more of the highlights for shows / red carpet etc. I think with Michele even the basics were very fashion / his taste driven, not what you can get at Dior or other brands of the same caliber.

Thats what I couldnt understand. In fact, i dont understand why BV are so passionate about changing the brand into the quiet luxury also. People wont flock to stores to buy their product because it was previously maximalistic and exciting and now its tame, quiet and incredible expensive. i cant stand the pretentiousness ugh

Well whoever goes in next needs to strip Alessandro's aesthetic away for good.

tisci for gucci pls. in his highs, he can make us dream and he will put gucci up there beside louis vuitton in terms of fashion.

If these are the options, I’m grabbing a new bucket of popcorn for the next episode of the Gucci downfall.

-Kim Jones?! Maybe if Kering hired a blind headhunter who’d never seen his work at Fendi.
-MGC is a lukewarm dish at best. Reheating her and serving her up again won’t be enough to save Gucci at this point.
-Pierpaolo? That would be rather ironic given his history with Sabato. Didn’t PPP turn down the Gucci job before they even considered Sabato?

Francesca Bellettini’s comments are pure gold. She’s taking the CEO playbook of spinning a complete mess into it all being part of a ‘planned success’ to a whole new level.
Wasn’t she the one who appointed Anthony Vaccarello at Saint Laurent? That decision wasn’t entirely idiotic, but building on the solid foundation Hedi left behind at SL is a completely different story compared to salvaging the ruins left by 2 years of SdS at Gucci..

lets not be surprised either if Belletini choose Vaccarello or similar ... she like the dark sexy glamours style post Hedi YSL and as they want to revive the TF era which would tik the fashion novelty box and the classic box for their genius plan chapter 2.

because they can't see past TF x Gucci glory days retro 70´s 60´s via 90´s - 00´s lens

i feel maybe that's why we hear so much Hedi rumor as well its in similar vein.
