Dolce & Gabbana F/W 06.07 Milan

Oh come on. Balenciaga SS06 was practically haute couture.

true! it also reminds me of Balenciaga...but that's nothing negative. I like it...especially the dresses and the pants!

I sort of see the slight Balenciaga influences... but this is taken on an opposite way than Balenciaga.

Beautiful collection...i love how dolce is growing..great clothes..i am so excited for this collection

This collection was WAY different from Spring/Summer! Instead of being blatantly sexual, with all the reds, it was a complete 180 with a more subdued, luxurious color palette. I have to say that I thought S/S was better, but this collection fits right with the menswear. The roped dresses and those tiny cylindrical purses were really elegant. I'm excited to see what more of the shoes look like!:woot:

I dont see Balenciaga in it, unless every double breasted jacket and empire dress is Balenciaga inspired. There's a certain luxury to the clothes, which Balenciaga doesnt have, a certain excess but not in the tacky way.

umm, balenciaga's last collection was the most expensive they've ever produced...

this collection is arguably the worst this season, it reminds me of an average retail store in the way they've put this together:

- a bit late on the military baroque trend don't you think? this opulence isn't for right now...just like a lower-priced retail store they are behind the times...

- a hodge podge of influences from balenciaga to...balenciaga:lol: it's not that they're rip-offs, but it's like a watered down version of a look...it's absolutely miserable that in order for the mainstream to understand a trend it has to be done by dolce & gabbana..

nice clothes

BUT...........................balenciaga did the exact same baroque for spring 06
and those pants are a rip off from spring 05, the should have let at least 5 years pass by before blatantly ripping balenciaga off!

It looks fresh for Dolce&Gabbana. I really like it - especially the short dresses.

But Dolce has done baroque and romance before in the early 90's and for the Complice line too. So far, this looks so much better than the spring collection.

I really like it- there "theme" this season seems to be more wearably done this season-

and I really like some of the dresses- fantastic!

and yes some of it does look like balenciaga because perhaps- balenciaga did military inspired clothing- and Dolce is doing military (French empire military mind you) inspired clothes. OMG they're practically doing a repeat of the same show-

Oh wait. No

EVERYthing that goes down a runway has at some point been done before- it's inevitable- there are only so many ways to make a shirt/ dress ect

Balenciaga isn't the one who created "that" look, but... maybe I'm just a bit unrelenting on D&G's past copying act...

breeze of fresh air at dolce....?

but it's still terrible... you can see the models holding the middle part of their dresses because the fit is quite bad.... and the big N logo...!?

it looks like the navel theme from balenciaga SS 05, the Military theme from AW 05, and the Barouqe theme from SS 6 in one gaudy collection. For DG, I like this. It's not bad but their inspirations (as always) are a bit too obvious.

I hate the cargo pants and the slippers but I like a lot of the jackets, shirts, and dresses...all the models were holding their dresses toward the middle section of the show...I think it's supposed to mean something but I'm not sure...

i really liked this show. It was very classy and sophisticated, which is good. :D
I have to agree that it looks like Balenciaga. Not enough to be considered copying by any means, but the big white blouses, and the very high collars paired with the skinny trousers reminded me of that SS06 collection. Not in a bad way though, i loved this show's look. Very 1700-1800's English Royalty, with the slim dresses and the hunting boots. I love love love that look. Adored the bags, shoes, jackets, and trousers. Some of the dresses were a little busy (which is not my taste ) but overall, the best show ive seen in Milan. Hands down. A wonderful wonderful show.

totally agree..i rarely like their stuff but im impressed..maybe because ive been totally disappointed so far...but i love the dresses:flower:

we are comepletely thinking the same thing. the last collection was just quite a mess, but this one is so much better. However, it is still kind of upsetting that it looks so much like Balengciaga, except that it is more wearable.

An okay collection...not my fave :( all i want them to do is EDIT MORE!!!!!!!!

I dont like the pale look on all the models for dolce&gabbana...they look purple...
I bet that skank J.Lo was there to steal ideas for her sh*tty line...
