i like edie a lot but I'm finding it hard to see exactly what she's wearing in some of these pics. So what exactly are the ingredients of edie style, other than opaque black tights, minis and huge earrings?

well as far as makeup: intense amounts of eyeliner, false eyelashes, darkened beauty spot, penciled-in Liz Taylor-type eyebrows, pale pearlized lipstick or lipgloss -- basically what the Dior model has on below (from style.com)

hair: really blonde pixie-ish/gamine cut

clothing: both she and warhol were fans of Breton stripes, but she also liked the colors black and white, leotards paired with tons of bangles and multi-strand necklaces, fur coats, little tees, super high heels -- basically just think mod, and you won't be too far off

also,not that it matters but.............there is now talk again of Paris Hilton playing Edie in this movie that I believe will never be made.Since Katie and Sienna have been on the outs-and they say since Paris IS the new Edie and all.ha ha,quite funny if you ask me!

Ooh, I had no idea we had an Edie thread here. I was fascinated with ehr evr since I found a book about Andy Warhol at Caban. It had tons of pictures of Sedgwick. She has such strong style. Sometimes shed just wear a long shirt over pantyhose. When i was watching "Igby Goes Down" a characted named Rachel played by Amanda Peet had a very Edie-esque aura about her. In the movie shed wear pantyhose with a shirt and a big red coat over it.

I've had that book since I was a sophmore in college - 1984! In fact, just found it in a box of "old memorabilia" and started reading it again last night. Wow, my friends and I took that look and lived by it for 2 - 3 years! What a cool thing to see there's a site for discussing Edie.

Yes well, all this stuff about Sienna is just dandy () but moving on back to Edie...could anyone tell me where to actually find Warhol/ Sedgwick movies? They're not exactly easily available from where i've looked... I love looking at Factory/Edie pictures, but i've never actually watched a film.. any suggestions as to where i could look??
As for this apparently doomed hollywood film... i can only agree with those who think that it should be made with some unknown actress. After all Edie was/is an underground starlet and should remain that way IMO

How tall was Edie? Because i don't think she was taller than 5'4" (I may be wrong) and isn't Katie Holmes really tall?

wouldn't matter, people would be looking at the aura, not so much the height. I say they need to cast a 12 year old boy as Edie, since that is better than K. Holmes or anyone else discussed. I'm joking, but still...this is a big deal. I don't think we should concentrate on so much the height or exact look, but a mixture of acting and the look. lindsey lohan seems to be getting very anorexic these days...maybe her (if just for looks.) as far as acting, has any of us mentioned selma blair??? she's a pretty good actress and def has the edie thing down these days. Or am I wrong?
