I really love how Edie could wear fishnets and a minidress without looking cheap and whorish..
I know! I was watching ciao! last night and thinking (yet again) how completely un-strange it is to see her sans pants, she just looks perfect..very lucky to be able to pull that off ;) ^_^

yeah I know, she makes everything seems so natural, like she just put on something from the floor and made it fab.

I'm not sure if it was just the way she was or if it was the way of the 60's and the fact that she always was around ppl that had some kind of special style..

so isn't the movie based upon her life pretty much? even if she was acting, she's basically playing herself, and that's the way she thought of herself? im not sure if im making much sense.

didn´t they actually want International Velvet to play the part. I know it was all very fast, they cantacted Edie only one day before shooting began. I think they just needed someone desperately. (mentioned in her Bio)

I got some very big earrings that reminded me of Edie

Yep, it was suppose to be International Velvet (aka Susan Bottomly), but her parents freaked out when they read the script or she freaked out, one of the two. The story behind the movie is actually pretty interesting. It took five years to make because Edie up and left NYC before filming finished and another co-star, Paul America, took off too.

Ciao! is supposedly based on Edie's life. It's basically old footage of her meshed with new color footage with her daytripping about her NYC days. In a way, that's kind of sad because Edie did seem a tad bitter about her Factory days. In a way, I can't blame her, but at the same time, nothing like that could really last forever. I can't really tell if she had the talent to be a "real" actress because in all those (nearly unwatchable) Warhol films, she was just being herself.

still nothing makes me more angry than seeing her face splattered all over some cheap t-shirt.

^ that's why a review for Ciao says she was "exploited from beyond the grave."

I know...she has the best legs!! Every move she made was like a dance move.
Edie is FABULOUS!!

galliano actually said that the dior hair and makeup posted a few pages back was inspired by baby jane, and to clarify edie's hairdo - she cut it short and died it to look like andy's (he wore a silver/gray wig), not the other way around.
