there is this website, http://www.subcin.com who has all the episodes from an american family, I sent him a message over youtube before, asking about the episode with Edie, but I never got an answer.

It would be nice to know which episode she was in.
I´ll try to e-mail him again, hope he answers.

Thanks FairyX! I have always wanted to see that. What does he have on his youtube channel?

tomorrow a Warhol exhibition is opening it´s doors at the Stockholm Modern Museum of Art. and it will be open until May 4.
I will definently go there more than once...

though I am very pissed at missing the opening tomorrow, which will include John Cale talking about Andy. I have to work
totally sucks.

anyway... about the exhibition...
It´s called Other voices, Other rooms.
They´re going to show the following movies:

Chelsea Girls
Blow Job
Empire
Sleep
Kitchen
Tarzan and Jane Regained... Sort of
Haircut (No. 1)
Henry Geldzahler
Soap Opera
Couch
Mario Banana (No.1 & No. 2)
Harlot
John and Ivy
Screen Test
Poor Little Rich Girl
The Life of Juanito Castro
Horse
Outer and Inner Space
My Hustler

I´m mostly looking forward to seeing Kitchen & Horse, the other Edie movies I have already seen, but I will probably see them again ^_^
I did hope for Lupe...

And they´re going to show a lot of screentests, Edie´s I hope :)
and Andy´s video diaries, though they´re supposed to be from the 70´s, so no Edie, still fun to see.

and of course there will be paintings, photographs, tape recordings and all kind of stuff.

I am really looking forward to this :D

OMG...that's so cool!

I actually saw a book at Border's today that detailed Warhol's screentests and there was a huge section of it devoted to Edie's....

yeah, they´re supposed to show 40 screentests, and also 42 tv-episodes, whatever that can be?

^ I think in the 70s or 80s he had some sort of TV show about celebrities. I'm not too sure, but that may be what it's referring to?

yeah, maybe... that sounds like fun.

damn.... I´m gonna hang there alot, if I´m going to see all the movies and everything else...

I think that it gives a lot of details about what was on the episode in the American Girl book. So if you have it you could look up who else was on it or something and that might help. I hope that person answers!

this is what he answered:

"Hi! Actually I think that's something of an urban legend, there is an episode of American Family that takes place at the Chelsea Hotel, but Edie isnt in it. There are appearances by Holly Woodlawn, and a stage show with Candy Darling, Jackie Curtis, and others, but by the time they made the series, Edie was no longer a member of that circle and on her final downward spiral."

My Poor Little Rich Girl and Beauty #2 DVDs arrived in the mail today! :woot: I'm watching PLRG tonight...so exicted!

I thought she was filmed at a fashion show for American Family  I think she may have been in the audience and didn't have much of a role, so maybe he didn't notice?..She was a brunette then and most people that don't know a lot about Edie wouldn't recognise her. I think she was friends with Lance Loud so the fact of her not being a part of the Warhol social circle at that time is irrelevant. Although he could be correct that she wasn't in it since he actually watched all the episodes.

I watched a just few of the videos he had on his page (none featured Edie) but they weren't the complete episodes. It was interesting to learn about Lance Loud, I didn't know much about him before..

The episode was long after she left New York because it was the night she died. There's that picture of her in the audience but it also says something in the book about the cameras coming up to her but i don't know if those cameras were for the show or not. Also, she was probably not listed at all as being on the show since at that point she wasn't that famous anymore.

The footage of Edie and Andy on the Carson show are lost forever, sadly. Years and years of the Carson show were destroyed long ago and there are no duplicates. A terrible loss for historians, I think.

Poor Lance. I do hope he didn't really think that he had anything to do with Edie's death, because I certainly don't believe it is so. I remember clearly that we were told that Doradin/alcohol were at toxic levels in her system, nothing else.

Lance's life and his videography are amazing, and I truly hope that he had no regrets or doubts about what he of himself gave to the world. He was a dedicated, original reality "show".

Sorry - fixing the spelling. Mum said "doradin" but it is duradrin from what I see on internet.

Thank you for the info! That's too bad about all the Carson footage! I would have loved to have seen it. Did they mean Lance gave her drugs that night or another time? Because in the AG book Lance talks about how he had met her on the beach in Santa Barbara one time.
