Edie Sedgwick #2

I was thinking about the line in "Edie: An American Girl" the other day, when a friend of hers at Harvard said that her legs were terrific - only after she left for New York. That all summer before she left, she went to a local salon and had them pounded into shape; I distinctly remember him calling them "piano legs". Does anyone know how on earth she would've had her legs 'beaten' into shape?

I don't know about the "pounding" but i'm sure it was the fact that she started to dance so much that created those beautiful legs. They were probably just straight before and dancing gave them shape. I remember that part from the book, too, but i don't know what it could mean??

 That interview just made me smile so much. She seemed like such a genuinely nice, lovely person.

I don't think that her legs were literary pounded, but I think as someone else mentioned that she got in better shape from her dancing.

Lulu

Hi everyone, I thought that this could be interesting to know.

In the youtube excerpts of 'Girl on Fire' titled "One Night Jag," http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghISeWqP3hc there is a point that features portions of the film that was projected for the play 'Lulu,' in which (as you probably already know) Edie had been the star in the projections as Lulu, filmed by Richard Leacock.

You can read more about the projection and the play at Richard Leacock's website. http://www.richardleacock.com/15846 . And you can also learn more about 'Lulu' by reading page 352 from the Edie: American Girl book.
