Overall I like this collection. I others I think there is a modern gothic feel to it. I think its different enough to most wearable collections that its still Gareth Pugh.
RO similarities aside, I really like this. It's very well done, and I like the stripped down look of this compared to some of his past offerings. The clothes themselves look impeccable.
I just wish that the most interesting elements of this weren't so reliant on another designer's work.
Wow, the ribbed structural leather pieces and chevron patterns are WONDERFUL. And the chain pieces too ... I love this. There is so much attention to detail yet it adds up to a super sleek, minimalist, future-goth look that I can't stop staring at.
I definitely see some Rick Owens similarities too, but after seeing what Rick Owens has done this season, I have to say I think I like Pugh's version better...
Great collection.
Greatly polished and edited and styled ...
Pure commerce. Be aware kids, Gareth's got Rick support ... And this is just beginning of his rise in commercial fashion ...
i adore this.
and i find it very pugh. its just not larger than life over the top amazingness. but with the economy, it needs to be about selling clothes. he will definitely sell more clothes this way.
i think because its more wearable, the rick owens comparison emerges. but i like gareth pugh more than i like rick owens.
