General Gucci Questions

I used to own that Gucci doctor bag in the background of that pic above. I sold it though and regretted it

I wish I did research on those bags when they came out though etc, its exactly the kind of black bag im looking for that i could use during the day..now I'll never find one quite like that.

What do you think about the Gucci GG canvas? I find it very beautiful and classic (don't know why) and I'm thinking of getting the large horsebit hobo in GG canvas but now I'm having second thoughts. I know I should just get what I like and not think about what others might think but I can't help worrying that people will think I just got it because of the logo and that I'm trying to somehow show off.

Yes I do and that's exactly why I have started hesitating even though personally I love that bag.

Don't worry about what other people think; the only designer bags I see in Louisville, KY are LV and Fendi monogram. To be honest, I don't think anything one way or the other when I see these bags, and no one else makes a fuss about it. At least in the case of the LV monogram, it is a classic and simple. I agree that the Gucci monogram also has that classic simple look about it.

I don't like it, but I don't hate it and I don't think less of people who carry it. if you like it, carry it with pride. if you will carry it in fear of what others think then don't get it. a big (if not primary) part of looking good is attitude.

Exactly! You carry the bag, don't let the bag carry you! Buy what you like. It's a waste of money to splurge on a bag without really liking it.

I have a large Gucci bag with the logo and I dont really like it and wasted money on it.
If you like the logos and find it classic then go for it. It can work for some people

i was debating the large hobo also. maybe, if you want it to be less "flashy" you can go for black? i like the signature. I think some people wear it really well but it depends on the person as well. Go for it if you like it! The only thing I was debating about the large hobo is the size. I "tried" it out at the store and couldn't decide if it was too big for me but I really love the hobo. Maybe you can go for the leather one. The leather was so soft and looked really great in the mandarin color!

I think the GG monogram goes well with m style. I dress very classic and simple, basic colours like black, white, offwhite and beige... I already have the medium size horsebit hobo in GG canvas but now I have fell in love with the large one as well. I should get it in beige because I already have the black one. And I think the leather one is out of my budget at the moment. I also actually prefer the canvas bag.

marine! i am having the same dilemma as you! I have the medium monogram hobo and the large white leather hobo but I really REALLY want the large hobo w/ the mandarin trim (though it's a little more orange-y looking than the past, the color works well w/ my skin tone )

please let me know what you decide, I'm curious! I've been debating on this forever and my SA is in the process of trying to locate the hobo I want (the gucci site says there is a 6-8 wait now!)...I have a bad habit...and when i find something I like, I tend to buy in a variety of similar styles/colors.

I'm so glad somebody understands me! I really don't know which one I'm going to get. On one hand it would be better to get the large hobo in black canvas because that way it wouldn't be as flashy and black goes well with pretty much everything anyway. But on the other hand it would be better to get in in beige canvas so that I would have some variety. I'm just not sure if I want to be a walking Gucci ad... (I have a Gucci pochette in beige canvas but as it's so small I don't have the same problem with it.) I like them both I just can't decide which one I should get.

I actually prefer the GG monogram over LV. I think it's just a matter of personal preference/taste but I find the GG more classic....and well, to be honest, i'm sick of seeing all the bootleg LV bags the HS girls carry around! Hey to each their own but I find the GG monogram more suitable for me. I get more use out of my guccis these days than my LVs.

I just called my SA at gucci and there is a list for the mandarin hobo in the large size as they haven't been released yet in the US. She's orderred a couple extra for her store so I'll be getting one of them

Even though black is more versatile and perhaps less "flashy," I'd personally consider a different color for some variety. People who notice the GG monogram in black fabric will be just as inclined to notice it in any other color so I don't think that should be a point of concern!

I will agree with you. If you are simple style oriented, you should go for Gucci bag. Because most of the Gucci bag were designed base on the simpleness (my understanding).

The point is: A well designed, simple handbag can set the owner off well but not let everybody notice the bag itself and ignore the one who is wearing it.

Does anyone know if the Gucci moon hobo (im not up to par with my gucci terms, sorry!) with the buckle on the side ever came in brown? It only lists the mandarin and white on the website. I called a few stores and they all said they were not sure.
