Goyard bags / luggage

True....LV does hold up..I have a keepall that is 20yrs old...given the leather is dark it's still in good shape....I hope to say the same things about my Goyard Bowing!!!!!

I read on another thread that if you bring in a picture, they can put almost any image on your bag. Cool.

Also, I went to Barney's the other day, and they have like every style there. The store has a rainbow of colors in the tote available, just hanging on a rack. ^_^

It's so interesting that they don't advertise, nor (seemingly) send free bags to celebs. Maybe they purposely don't want the "It" bag label?

I spoke with Eli about customization and I am told that with regards to painting the bags, they have now become very strict about it. They can now only do stripes (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal), crown, and initials. I am told that they cannot paint anything else.

I've asked them if they can paint the solid color part of the white bag (not the stenciled part) to create an illusional effect of having a colored background and I am told that it cannot be done.

Btw, the reason I asked that is I have been looking for the raspberry pink color Goyard bag but they've discontinued it. So now I cannot find it anywhere. If anyone sees the raspberry color Goyard bag anywhere, please let me know. I'm a huge fan of the Jeanne:flower:

hello again :P

I would call the store in Paris, they are able to ship things to you (at least in Europe) and given the horrendous price differences between Europe and Barney's, it could even be cheaper paying for a Paris bag + shipping. You could also ask them directly about the customization and why they don't do everything anymore. And BTW black with black and tan leather and the red ones are the basic colors, everything else is considered special order thus they cost more than the basic ones - at least that's the pricing in the Paris boutique, Barney's doesn't seem to care about the colors...

I don't speak French, hopefully this won't be a problem ... Do you know if they take Mastercard and Visa? I don't have an AMEX. I'm not sure how late they work til. It's now about 5pm over there in France.. I guess I'll find out.

I've heard that they also speak English without problems, but I spoke French when I was there. They definitely take Visa! Please tell us everything when you've called :) yes it's the same time in Austria, around 5pm and AFAIK they are open until at least 7pm

I'll call right now, hopefully my Skype is working.

Ok, just got off the phone with them. No, they don't have the raspberry pink anymore because the raspberry pink was too similar in shade to the red they currently have. In regards to painting, they can pretty much paint stripes, initials, paint our personal info on the bag, any logos we want there, or a crown if we're part of the Aristocracy (dangit, now I want a crown on there). They cannot, however, paint the leather into a different color or paint filled all the non-stenciled part with color to create an illusional effect of another background color.

The gentleman I spoke with was very friendly and helpful, his English is also excellent ... I was actually a bit intimidated before calling because I was afraid I would get bad customer service as this is a high-end boutique, i'm glad I'm wrong in this case:flower:

Thank you for the info! The SAs were very nice when I was in the boutique though I wasn't really dressed up and asked them lots of questions in bad french  So we come to the conclusion that you gotta go to Paris for painting anything else than stripes, initials and numbers ö_Ö

Thanks for the info. Kou....I was wanting to do something fun on my bag and was told, as were you a list of what they will do now.....At least in France they are a bit more willing to help to do something unique. :)

Hmm.. this peeling business worries me. I'm planning on purchasing a Boeing 55 duffel but now I'm having second thoughts..

I wanted a crown on my purse, but I guess I have to think of something else.

The Croisere is a great bag....As a guy myself, I would do at least a 45cm...If you are going to travel with it via air i would not do the 60cm as it's too large to fit under a seat....The 50cm may be tight. My Boeing 45cm is perfect for air travel.

Hmm, black or white....they are both great colors! :)

Thanks for the advice do you think BryanBoy Croisere is 45 the blue one? I want something smaller but still masculine size.

I would say the blue Croisere in the photos you posted would be at least a 45cm or 50cm....:)

Did the Paris store say it's okay to paint Crowns? Because when I called Paris, they said they no longer paint Crowns but they will paint any other logos we want. We can even bring our own designs in for them to do it:woot: .

With regards to the Goyard in SF, I was told that they can now do the painting locally because the artisan from Paris came to SF and trained a local artist (Natalya) on how to paint the Goyard way. Therefore, instead of waiting for 3 months to get a bag painted, now it's 6 weeks.:flower:

I would love a crown on my purse too (simply because it's cute), but I'm told that Goyard wants to keep their bags "exclusive" so only aristocrats can have crowns on there. As much as I like their products and the customer service, that part about exclusivity with the Crown really didn't sit well with me ...

What are you planning on having painted on your bag? Since I was told that they can't do Crowns, I now need lots of inspiration and ideas on how to decorate my Jeanne MM. Any suggestions will be great~

My info may not be as update but when I was in Paris is May, they were willing to paint the crown. Lots of Japanese Ladies did that.:p

The SA told me I could think about it and return to get it done. Did they change their policies?

The Crwon is ADORABLE! :woot: And I have seen more than 1 'Crown' design in the Paris shop!
