Gucci Mens F/W 06.07 Milan

Hmm, after seeing all of it I've got to say I don't like it as much as I thought I would. There were lots of pieces in there, great coats, jackets and shirts, but stylistically it felt a little off. It could have been great, but it fell kind of short for me. Those random plaid shirts were just weird, the pants tucked into the boots could have been good, but they were too short imo.

I was getting a definite vampire vibe from it all, the mood was perfect and it could've been a great collection instead of just good.

I am thrilled to see this new collection, since John Ray has not been doing a good job at GUCCI. This is the best of his so far, I had a moment of doubt if it was designed by him, but as far as I know, it was.

I really like the neo-darkness and youth that John has learnt to capture, yet there's room for improvement, it was a big step for him to shift from British Dandy to British underground, and you can't get all the basic black things out of GUCCI, since its the core business and it's a brand that's really dominated by the more mature clientele at this moment, and they like black.

I feel quite a bit of Dior Homme F/W 05 abt this show- u see rock & roll and music influenced elements here and there, is it a good thing to a designer? maybe not; but is it good for GUCCI? yes, in my opinion. Simply due to the urgent feeling I have for this company to educate a younger clientele base. Some of you mentioned about Gucci becoming sort of split-persona, however, with Frida's last collection and this one by John, I'm so happy to see the new GUCCI under regeneration, it's no longer a designer-driven brand, but a luxurious modern design brand instead.

This is a better collection than Prada, and this didn't happen for so long.
