Gosh! Foul ending!
Call me a blood thirsty cynic but the whole resuscitation thing ruined it for me. I loved, loved, Harry's sacrifice thing and the whole character development and motivations behind it. The Prince's tale and the Forest again chapters were so beautiful.
But then Harry had to pull a Jesus so the 9-years olds could have their happy ending and Harry could run off snog Ginny and have babies with his High-school crush (is the dating pool so small in the wizarding world?).
I just don't like guimauve and I though JK could have worked thing out some other way, a way which included Harry really dying, not 'passing out' for a short while and having a chat with Dumbledore (why on earth the Elder wand killed Harry the first time around, BTW?).
That epilogue thing was the cheesiest thing since George Michael and its only merit was Harry acknowledging Snape's greatness at last.
Things I liked though:
- Luna, every-single lines she was given. It helped that I fell in love with her movie portrayal the week before.
- Harry's death: the whole chapter was what I though the whole series was about. The 6 books clearly prepped harry for the realisations he made in this chapter. Beautiful. Simply beautiful.
- Snape's last line: the fact that the last thing he wanted to see was Lilly's eyes touched me way beyond the (rather cheesy) descriptions of him lusting/chasing/crying after her. Now that's what I call undying love.
-Dumbledore's confession: At last Albus was given dimension, humanity and true feelings. I loved, loved it, though I was pissed the chapter lead to Harry's comeback.
- Kreacher: very well done plot twist
- The three brothers tale: I loved it. I hope JK does write the whole book for charity
-Voldy: I love, love Voldy. Superb villain. Superb death.
Didn't like:
- Will you die already Harry?
- Ron: I am sorry but his is a useless git, as far as I am concerned
- Ron + Hermione: ugh, gross.
- None of the really central character dying. I mean, What?
That's all I can think off for now.
