I really want to know in which house would I be... one thing is for sure, not Slytherin... My order is this: Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Slytherin.

Hufflepuff just seems like the place they put you if you don't have anything special about you. Gryffindors are brave, Slytherins are dark, Ravenclaws are smart. Hufflepuffs are just...there.

That's what I think as well....hufflepuffs seem kinda boring

phew haven't posted in a while...i really loved the final book though i could have done without the epilogue - seemed kind of like fan fic haha. i cant wait for the movies to catch up!! i went back and read the sixth book after finishing deathly hallows and everything made so much more sense!

yea! Well I had to read Book 6 before the last book as I had not even read it yet!
So much so , I am now addicted once more so I am going backwards through the series. Finished Book 5 in 2 days and now on Book 4. I lvoe them all!

Perhaps it's because I have a bit of a crush on book Sirius (but not movie Sirius!)...

Oh, but cannon just KILLS fanon, which is so much more fun.

And yes, HP boards are insane. The armies of shippers, the militant (albeit delusional) fans who refuse to belive that Snape/Sirius/Dumbledore is/are dead... its pretty crazy.

I think Gary Oldman made a good Sirius. I can't think of who else couldve played him now but when I picture the book Sirius he looks much different. Do you think Gary wasnt attractive/young enough to play Sirius? Because I thought he captured him quite well.

My only real problem with Harry and Ginny is the fact that, while she insists it is not so, she really does have everyone falling in love with everyone else. Lupin/Tonks, Harry/Ginny, Ron/Hermione. Did ANYONE marry someone other than a schoolmate from Hogwarts (other than Luna and possibly Draco)? That juse dosen't happen in real life.

But Hogwarts is the only school ... similar to BYU, and there are definitely lots of couples from there

Haha same!!In my head hes still hot even if hes not in the movie (Gary Oldman: Great actor, just not my type). I was actually hoping in the 5th/6th/7th one (or two) of Siruis' old flames would turn up, add a bit of an interesting/fun twist.

He was definitly older than I had imagined him to be when reading the book...but I thought Gary Oldman did a great job.

What about Beauxbatons? Bill married Fleur. Or Durmstrang?

Wizards have many more means to travel- floo, apparation, portkey, etc.- so that would mean they could get around the wizarding world easier. Pleanty of British born witches and wizards were sent by their parents overseas (Draco mentioned how his father considered sending him to Durmstrang), and their are Canadian, American, and Australian witches and wizards I'm sure- so even language isn't a barrier, though with magic I doubt it was in the first place.

There are loads of different options...

That's what I think as well....hufflepuffs seem kinda boring

when the sorting hat tells the story of the houses and how they began to bicker and slytherin only wanted a certain type and gryffindor wanted the brave and ravenclaw wanted the smart types -- hufflepuff was the house that would take them all irregardless of smarts or courage and what not.

not in the movies at least, especially the early ones

I've decided that my favorite scene in the book is The Silver Doe:

• One of the first hints of Snape's loyalty and his love for Lily.
• Ron! I love him in this -- saving Harry was perfect, and him facing the locket was so powerful. Ron and Harry's talk/hug at the end was great too -- it really shows the strength of their friendship.
  
• Hermione's reaction -- I'm glad she didn't just jump into Ron's arms and forgive him instantly. Her anger was clearly because she cared so much about Ron, and JKR made that obvious. I love that scene. Plus I just got the clearest mental image of the whole thing (Hermione looking like she's about to hug Ron but instead attacking him with punches and shouting at him )
