How ironic that what Gaultier is doing for Hermes far exceeds what he does with his own line. Maybe it's the fact that he has to design under certain conditions and has to bear the house's traditionalism and conservatism in mind. His wild ideas are reigned in and this collection is better for it. The tailoring here is absolutely impeccable. Sharp, sleek, and, true to Gaultier form, both masculine and feminine.
It's funny to read people crying out "James Bond" and "Sherlock Holmes". It really exposes the age of most members here. Hehe. The show is clearly based on The Avengers. The umbrellas and John Steed-like wardrobe give it away. And that last model is Emma Peel reincarnated. It's so glaringly obvious. And what a statement that she comes in only at the end, with her hair loose and free.
