Always did like the look of socks and heels - was very big in the 1930's too (I'm probably the only one here who personally remembers that!).

I think to pull it off you've got to have some pretty well made shoes that do not look cheap, otherwise it would bring the whole outfit down and would make it look somewhat tacky.

Personally I love the look, and I have done it. There's something so sexy, yet adorable about it. I have worn heels with ruffle ankle socks, or glitter ankle socks. Its funky and I love it

I don't like it, because it visually cuts your legs off at the ankle and makes your legs look shorter.

personally i love this look, though my friends mostly think im insane. i tried it with some high heeled cream mary-janes. it came out very similar to this from alexander mcqueen:

my skirt was a bit less puffy but i think overall it went quite well. (thinking about it i recon my friends were more shocked that the socks were stripy than the actual presence of them, lol)
