High-Waisted Trousers

I saw some high-waisted trousers in the womens section today. Im fighting to urge to take that last step into total ********, but they would look SO good on me. Really. They would.

I don't really like them - they're not particularly comfortable, and I don't think they look that great... though it's interesting to see how the rise went lower for a while, and now is rising again (the cycle of trends never ceases to amuse me :))

Roland Mouret did a pair for his fall collection that I really liked. I liked how he paired it with the cropped top. :)

Actually, it's her pantyhose (sp?). The trousers sit at her hips. I was just looking at that collection this morning - it's so good.

I love high-waist trousers. It is so classic and quite flattering, I think, especially compared to hipsters which tend to be either too loose in the back or too tight - which is just is ugliest look ever but oh-so-common!

^^ those skinny-leg ones look really ungainly. She looks like a wishbone. I think natural-waist or high-waist trousers look best with an unfitted (but not necessarily baggy) leg.

I love the look of high waisted trousers, but I find them a bit too uncomfortable to wear - I especially hate sitting down in them

If the fabric has a tiny bit of stretch to it, it should not be uncomfortable. I am working on a pair, and the fabric has like 1% of lycra and I think they will be just fine. Also, they have a faced waist, rather than a waistband, and I think it will be more comfortable. They come up to my natural waist, which I find is perfectly well comfortable. The Empire Waist ones, however, I think would feel awful.

My new ones have a similar rise to the ones photographed above, but mine have a straight cut leg with about 2" of ease all the way down.

I love empire waist trousers, I designed a pair, though I haven't seen a pair on the runway or in person. They would look so good with a white button up shirt...Empire waist pencil skirts as well...

High waists pants are not for me
I love low rise pants, though not to the point where it's like,"hey look at me I got a brazilian bikini wax just to wear these pants". I like them because I can actually sit comfortably. I am short, about 5'3, but I don't believe the low waisted pants look bad on me. I guess that' just because my body is proportionate. Anyways, with the style of clothing I wear, it would just look weird to wear high wasted pants(and you'd probably shoot me if you saw my outfits, too lol).

Me too ...
Firstly, I got no waist. Second, it's pretty darned uncomfortable. Thridly, I feel they make my *** look huge!!!

omg... u just read my mind, but i must say it looked alright in Roland Mouret's show! Big problem in that Balenciaga!

you will never in a million years see me wearing high waisted pants. they just do not fit me well at all, for my body type. but if you have the body type for it and you like it, go for it. at least some of us will be able to pull it off :flower: .
