Hussein Chalayan F/W 09.10 Paris

Was there not a neat-o finale this season? Or was it just those molded neon pieces?

those concrete prints & coloured dresses in the first posts remind me of something Jeremy Scott would do.....v v disappointing....

he must've been pissed to see prada's boots last week haha.

I don't get it...he's normally much more complex than this...and thigh high boots to make up for what's lacking thereof, that's so not "Chalayan".

Mullet, that's exactly what I was thinking while looking at these! lol

Looks like he's still exploring with the geology theme. Not really a fan of the concrete print and the neon-coloured bodices, but everything else looks promising. Would not have guessed this was Chalayan though.

Well it's nice to see some actual clothes from him instead of pure concept pieces.

those boots with the straps..AMAZING. i would KILL for a pair

I definitely see those boots as a sort of play on the whole garter trend that has been popping up...

All I have to say: Eugenia, I want your dress. A lot of this stuff is actually very wearable, and the concept is great.

I've never liked his 'actual clothes' though and I'de much rather see one of his 'art' pieces. You would think being the creative director of Puma he would design enough sportswear without having to show it in his own line, and maybe invest in doing something that built on his own image.

Are these all the images? Maybe there WAS a finale...

^ My whole complaint with all of his science projects is that, yeah, they're amazingly innovative, but that innovation isn't leading anywhere in the realm of fashion. He's not applying it to clothing, he's just making incredible things that are destined for a museum as they truly are unwearable. It's not like when people throw around the "unwearable" accusation in regards to extreme clothes that push sartorial boundaries. It's that they aren't made with the intention of being clothing.

If that's his main priority, while throwing a bunch of unremarkable clothes in to appease the buyers and keep himself afloat then maybe he's in the wrong industry.

So even though the things seen here aren't remarkable (yet anyway) at least they belong on a runway and not in an art installation.
